5th Gen SS vs modified 69 Z-28

My buddy wants to show off his new toy and I'm curious to see who would win in 1/8th mile strip and 1/4 mile strip.

Me:
5th Gen SS with PCM tune, intake, exhaust headers, hurst SS
Dynoed at 482 hp

Him:
69 Z-28
gnarly motor -- see pics

If that big block is built up and can hook in the 69 , you better keep buying parts for yours!

I doubt that ! However I could see it running 7s in the eighth and 11s in the quarter , Aluminum heads and intake , ceramic coated headers looks like a DSE tub kit on the rear this car has some money in it. Have you ran your car?

I havent timed a quarter mile run in my car but would imagine it would be mid 12's--

I think the Camaro would win...

Depending on weather and how it hooks you should have solid 12 second car and low to mid 8s in the eighth.

lol, that 69 is pure sex!! Not that the 5th gen is anything to sneeze at, but damn!! Don't think I'd run for pinks, unless you cheat somehow, lol!!

I'm with you though, the Camaro has this one easily!!!

If he's serious, and so are you..

Then get a brand new Camaro!..because you'll be losing yours if he hooks.

my 2SS/RS baselined at 386 hp bone stock (3000 miles on the clock)
after the header/exhaust/intake/PCM tune it peaked at 419 hp/ 418 tq

Just found out that he purchased his car a guy in CA that built it up right... well over 100K invested!! geez -

I think its time for a supercharger and pedders kit...

thats weird to see a z-28 with a big block. I think it would be worth more if it had a 302 small block
