Adams Waterless vs Car Wash

I just washed my car with Adams Waterless and my car looks great. I used one bottle to clean it and a lot of that was on the polished rims to get the brake dust off. I'm not sure how much of the waterless an average wash should use and how many washes I would get out of a bottle of car wash and how much longer would it take to wash the car with car wash vs the waterless. Also I assume its ok to polish and wax the car after using the waterless just the same as if I washed with car wash.

I cannot tell by your post but hope you did not mess up your finish. Did you check out Junkman?

You may have over used the product a bit. I use about 1/2 a bottle of my fleet E250 work van.

Remember waterless was is made to be a "in-between" full wash product. Its not a substitute for a full on wash, as too much dust, dirt and grit will scratch / marr the crap out of your paint.

Yes it is ok to polish or wax your car after a waterless wash - assuming you got ALL of the dirt off the car. I don't trust myself enough to polish after a waterless wash. I always do a full wash before polishing; if by chance you missed any dirt, and you get it in your polishing pads you will do more damage while your polishing.

Watched the Junckman video link..thanks. I thought waterless car wash was just that..a way to wash a car without water when it was dirty. Couldn't figure out how you wouldn't scratch the piss out of the finish. Now I know. I'll just blow the water out of my hose and do a 2 bucket water wash in the winter, then blow water off with a leaf blower.

Since my car is a "Garage Queen" lol she doesnt get much if any dirt on her. Just some lite dust that comes off with the California Duster. Seems like a lot of work to do a full wash when not really needed. Since I have the Essentials kit, when I have a full weekend I will do a full wash and polish/wax to see how it goes. Also once she is all polsihed and waxed it should be easier to keep her clean with just the waterless. I used a lot of the wash on my rims to get the break dust off. I bet I used half a bottom on them alone.

I think you got it! If you car is only dusty you can use the California Duster and then clean it with the Waterless. If she is out in the rain/snow or outside over night and dew settles on the dust you have to do a full wash.

I use the waterless wash in a little different way and I would like to hear how I could improve my method. Teh car is victory red, a daily driver, and garage kept, so he doesn't get dirty, just lots of dust. Once a week I run the car through a brushless car wash. Our water is so hard and they use softened water. They say its a spotless rinse, but there are always small spots and drips after the blow dry.

Anyway, I drive home and do the waterless wash all over. I drive fast on the way home to get rid of the last drops. . I use Meguiar's Ultimate Detailer instead of Adam's. I haven't tried Adams, but the Ultimate Detailer does the job, maybe Adam's is better and maybe more expensive.

When I am done the car looks great and no water spots. In the sun I can see some swirls, but not bad. Out of the sun no swirls of course.

I use my Waterless Car wash mainly as a drying agent.

I don't use mine at all Ok, actually I have used it to get some water drips off that I missed while drying. It scares me, and really, how much work is washing the car? Come on now.

I think you would be ok if you just went over the car with the California Duster once you got home and then went on with the waterless wash. You are picking up some dust on the way home, so you don't want to grind that in.

BTW, we are talking about Adam's Waterless Wash, not Detail Spray. It's a completely different product.
