Maybe I missed it, but I thought the turbo 4 cylinder in the new Regal was still a concept and only in a couple GM test cars. I never heard it was confirmed for production.

I'm really starting to grow more and more attached to this car. I seen one in front of my dealership couple nights ago and of course I had to pull in and check it out being a Buick fan .I have to say, the looks are nice. I'm liking the route Buick is going in, sporty-ish luxury cars.

220 HP 2.0T is going into production very soon.

The 255 HP 2.0T Regal GS is going into production next year at Oshawa, although the final power numbers haven't been confirmed yet.

Cobalt SS output numbers sure would be nice. The SC 3.8L is gonna be a tough act to follow with its good mpg and HP. I'm not sold on a 220hp 4 cylinder auto, but throw the CSS engine and 6 speed and now we're talkin. Is the US model gonna get the manual like the euro spec Regal's

The 2.5L SIDI engine moves the Regal quite nicely. Not a Grand National by any means, but wayyyyyy better than Mrs. Number 3's 4 cylinder Malibu.

Everyone that I've talked to that has driven the 2.0T raves about it. But I'm not expecting Grand National performance either, just very refined usable power.

Hmmmmm, I've said Grand National twice...................I must miss my '87 GN. T-tops...................Stage II chip from a GM powertrain engineer I knew. BTW Stage IV chip required Aviation Fuel or so I was told.

Back to the Regal though. It is really a great car. Nicely balanced but firm. Quiet on the highway. The last one I drove (in Fen's Avatar) had a brief durability test run on it. Equivalent of 40,000 real world abusive miles and it was solid as a rock.

Either that had one hell of an anti-knock setup (110 octane with lead tetra-ethyl additive) or o_O

Buick Regal. Sex on wheels. Well, one of many GM sex on wheels vehicles.. my only qualm is with marketing touting it's german heritage. Sure joe blow doesn't know it's a (ok highly tweaked) Opel but I can't help but facepalm.

We have a 2.4L. Ford has a 2.5L.

No thanks on the 220 hp. The Regal GS is a different story though. As long as it's performance is similar to the Cobalt SS, while addressing all the shortcoming of the Cobalt SS (cheap interior/build quality), then it might be worth looking at
