Just bought 12 ZL1 looking to get 650 Rwhp HELP!!

I just bought a 12 ZL1 and I need opinions on the best and most reliable way to get 650 Rwhp. My car is bone stock!! My budget is 2500.any suggestions??

Good luck with that. The budget is small for that kind of RWHP. 100 extra RWHP will run just over 3K.

You'll have to wait it out for some used parts (headers, injectors, CAI) on that budget

Where is Asheville? Location might make a difference.

What kind of power increase should I expect from these upgrades. Roto fab cai, headers, and blower pulley (18%)?

you will need injectors with those mods also. Guessing 100-125rwhp.

Mikes12ZL1 11-10-2013 09:00 PM

So with those mods maybe 600-625 rwhp?

JRE 75-150 RWHP....

hognutz 11-10-2013 10:15 PM

my .02

cai $400
Lower pulley 9.55 $600
ID850's $800
tune $400

i would do longtubes and tb as well but you 2500 budget is a bit light.

that will get you in the ballpark. HP goals are kind of wierd. a 625hp car will spank a 650 HP car that is setup better. IE cooling mods, better tire etc.

you wont be able to get those kind of numbers with onlt 2500 bucks, sorry plus if you wanting to keep the IAT down you really need to get a bigger heat exchanger, and that alone for a good one is 700 to 999,,without paying to install it if you cant do it yourself

Get a loan.

If you have an AUTO (not manual), and you are not doing the install work yourself, expect to spend around 10k for 650 to the wheels reliably. You could get there for less, but prob not consistent or reliable.
