LPE 3.70 gear Question??

I have a question and I am reaching out to the forum. Will the LPE 3.70 gears work in a 2011 Manual V6? Any knowledgable info would be appreciated.

Hey Apex,
I have a 2010 V6 w/6-manual trans, 19" stock tires and stock 3.27axel ratio.

Is there a way to simulate going to a 3.70 and a 4.10 axel by temporally swapping rear rim size and tire combos?

Would doing this be an accurate simulation?
I want to know the feel of acceleration and use a GPS to see rpms at 60-70-80mph not just someone telling me the rpm, before I laydown all the money.

I am sure there is but it is far beyond my mathematical abilities and the simulations would probably end up costing as much or more than the swap. The change is significant. Short of going with forced induction a gear swap is one of the biggest performance enhancements out there.

^^This^^

Here is a calculator to help with the math.

I've had the Richmond 3.73's in for 9mos. and my advice is just do it!

The car is still easy to live with, but alot more fun. I don't think anyone would regret doing it.

Not sure of the cost of LPE, but I know Apex Chase can set you up with the Richmonds- I've had '0' issues.

Ventmaster Et al,

Yeah, I ordered the LPE 3.70 gear set. I was going to go with the Richmond 3.73's but had read on numerous forums about the gears failing at many ratios. I'm sure some of this was do the mis-use of street gears vice them being drag gears, but I rather not take the chance regardless of how they are used (street for me).

So next question is should I change out my cover with a LPW IRS cover and the JRE Billet Caps?

Went with LP 3.91's. I was about to just go with some 4.10's Mine won't be going in until spring so in the mean time I need to look for a good deal on a full install kit.

If you're making SS power, I'd also get the cover and caps. JRE also sells Pfadt diff bushings for street or racing, and now would be the time for those too!
You're gonna like those gears. Have fun .
