I have to say I love the color of your car. Beautiful!

But that is a Hot Air Intake at best. You really can't call it a CAI as it is truly only getting hot engine heat.. Very cool color though.

Its still getting cooler air because there is flow where the stock box little snorkel went. As I said I will sacrifice a little hp for better looks IMO that is. Plus I could always make a box to isolate it if I choose to.

Thank you very much for the compliment of the color.

The Airraid is the only true cold air intake on the market right now if i am not mistaken and it looks like a very well made kit. i have read a bunch of great feedback on that kit. just search for it and read. lots to rea

Airraid is a good one, but the true cold air intakes are the New Era, Vararam and Fastlane.

Airraid has a snorkle like the stock intake but still open to the engine bay... the ADM and CAI do the same with sealed boxes and the ADM race version pulls cold air from the lower grill.

Anyway... just a few more options to confuse things... Check out the Jannetty CAI comparison thread...

LOL, the Airaid is a cold air system and seals to the hood, its not open to the engine bay.

I have seen the jannety test. so your basing everything off of one test that was performed? the best information that came from the test was installation time, construction and if they need tuning or not.

Both the new era and fast lane require tuning. That alone tells you they were not the best engineered kit.

The Airraid and the CAI were the top 2 best performing systems all around. if you can understand everything on that chart, then you can see that clearly.

The Airaid is in fact still open to the engine bay... it uses the factory snorkel which is still located in the engine bay... yes it's close to the front but it is still OPEN... On a true cold air kit you would do things like run your tube through the fender wall and the intake would be COMPLETELY sealed off from the engine bay.. The Airaid doesn't completely seal at the snorkel... it can still suck in warm engine bay air...

As for requiring a tune not being the best engineered kit... that's not correct either! Hey, I'm waiting for a CAI for the V6 that DOES require a TUNE! I want the MOST gains possible! And the only way to really do that is with a system that's going to require a tune!

yep... lots of good feedback... but not one single independent dyno test!

No one I'm aware of has done any kind of independent dyno testing of the V6 CAI kits...

I can't remember but I believe 97one has done a lot of 0-60 runs, and while the time itself may not be accurate, the results have been very consistent... and if I remember correctly the MRT showed and improvement in his 0-60 runs while the Airaid did not...

Also I did dyno the MRT setup and I have seen some gains...
