I went to the muffler shop today to get the muffler delete done today and install the x-pipe 11386. The muffler guy said i couldnt use my stock tips, is this true? Also he had doubt if the x-pipe would even fit under the car. Then he wanted over 300 for this, how much are most people paying at the shop? -- thanks

on the muffler delete, they just cut off the stock tips and welded them back in place just like they were before on the new pipe. charged 70 for that and the pipe they used etc. they didnt seem to have any issues when i brought up the xpipe install either. IIRC they figured about 110 to install the xpipe... i could be off on that though, that might have included the catuall pipe itself or somrthing. i cant imagine it being more than the muffler delete was.

I paid $125 and you can reuse your tips.. I would take it to someone else if I were you.. We did have a little problem getting the x pipe to fit right up but it was worked out, any good shop shouldnt have a problem doing it.

My shop used the original stock tips and most people have resued theirs. He obviously doesn't know what he's doing and charging you WAY too much. Mine was done for $125. Find another shop.

Call Jordan or Don at JDP Motorsports.....I doubt you'll find a better price on the parts.

BTW: just to let you know the inlet on the #35121 tips are 2.25" but the factory exhaust is 2.5". Double check that the muffler shop has the tool to stretch it out a 1/4" to fit. Most good shops do. I confirmed with Magnaflow that those are the tips they use on the #16580 and they have to stretch them to fit as well.

Sounds like he just didn't want to deal with it , as far as price I don't see how guys are getting muffler deletes done for 80 or 90 bucks . ( and I don't doubt any of you )
Maybe overhead / labor is just a lot higher in the north east .

You need to find a new shop. You can reuse the tips very easily. My model was 10791 from JDP and it fit just fine. It replaces the stock H-pipe. I paid $150 to have the mufflers removed and replaced with straight pipes (using the stock tips) and have the x-pipe installed in place of the h-pipe.

so you have the non res xpipe and no mufflers... is it a lot more raspy than just the muffler delete? this is what i want to do, but i dont want it to sound bad. i already have the muffler delete (and like the sound, but want it louder, lol) , im just deciding on what xpipe to get.

When you put on the x pipe did you remove the resonator thats just after it.

I got my muffler delete, and the 11386 x pipe installed today. Im kinda dissapointed, its louder, but i expected way more loudness. I kinda wish id have gone with the non resinated x pipe. But the pipes and labor only cost me 207 after taxes, plus 80 for the x pipe, so for under 300 i still like it.

Did you remove the factory resonator(s) as well? The resonated x-pipe will get a bit deeper and louder as it breaks in, it generally takes 500-1500 miles. I think it will sound better and you'll appreciate it being cleaner sounding as well.

Have a great weekend!

Kind regards,
