When Buying a New Car??

I had a random question...

Lets say you buy a new car like a 2011 Camaro SS but the dealer had to get it from another dealer because they didn't have the color/style you wanted..is it ok for them to send someone to drive the car down?

What if the other dealership is 500 miles away? Is it still ok? Or does driving it down diminish the car because it now it isn't "new"?

See if they will ship it by truck. Either case it is still "new", it was never titled.

I wouldn't want to buy a brand new car with 500 miles on it.

Yeah, 500 is a bit extreme. I'd ask them to truck it. I got mine from a different dealer, but it was only 12 or so miles away.

MY dealer said most dealerships only check 250 out. Anything over that and it becomes to much of a hassle to deal with

The dealer does not care if the value is diminished since you will have to agree to buy the car before they will make the trade.
If you are not in a hurry, why not just order what you want?

There's no way i would buy a new car with 500 miles on it, heck let alone 50 miles. Below that i might though.

That being said if they were to cut a decent chunk on the price commensurate to the miles being put on it, that would change things.

When I bought my Camaro they had to get it from a dealership like 60 miles away, and when I got it, it had 118 miles on it, so I figure they drove it there or a bunch of people test drove it or idk, new car with 118 miles on it seemed a bit much, 500 would REALLY be a lot, but yeah I think my car lacked that new car smell, or it wasn't strong enough either way I have a freshener in it.

my dealer had to ship mine from another dealer 500ish miles away. I insisted it be trucked or I would not buy it. I wanted to be the one putting the first 500 on it.

My last car was driven from the pickup dealer, but it was no 500 miles. I guess as long as it is still in good condition it is OK. That is your call. If you don't feel comfortable buying it then don't.

500 miles is a bit much. They should truck it in.Dealer more than likely has their own roll off to haul it on.
