New Challenger or vintage Camaro?
I had been considering selling my 2010 2SS/RS Camaro in order to buy a Z28 when they come out. Because I didn't know the cost of the Z28, and there were rumors it could be over $60K I have decided to keep my 2010 Camaro.
I want to add to my mini car collection but I'm undecided whether I want to buy a new Challenger w/ Hemi or try to find like a 69 vintage Camaro. I would be a little afraid to drive a vintage Camaro and I really like the Challenger's but I still can't make up my mind. What is the consensus of you forum members? Would you buy a new Challenger or buy a vintage Camaro to go with your new Camaro? Russ Last edited by OHIOSS; 01-23-2011 at 09:49 PM. Reason: Spelling |

I'm pretty sure on a Camaro forum the consensus would be a 69 Camaro. Call me crazy.

For the cost of a new Challenger you could find a really nice 69 Camaro.

I'd keep saving for the Z. If it comes out too pricey for your tastes (I think 60k is an unrealistic estimate, for what it's worth...)....get the vintage Camaro.

A 69 camaro will go up in value. Plus i think a 69 would look better next to the 2010!

I'd say '69 since that's only going to go up in value. There's only a finite number of usable '69 Camaro's while they're still making new Challengers everyday, and regardless of what you buy, it'll inevitably go down in value.
I say enjoy the '69, and if later down the line you decide you want to buy a Challenger, you can sell the Camaro.

Keep saving for the Z. $60 K is to high of an estimate. Like two years ago I was in enemy territory trying to sell a car and was looking at a Brand New Shelby GT500 (some kind of anniversary edition) It was 55 K. No way can the Z be more than that, especially because it lacks that money hungry pricks name.
For me that price would keep me away from buying a Z. At a price of 60K, you might as well buy a new SS and spend that extra money in performance mods and make it faster than the Z. I am going that route now. By the time the Z comes out my SS will have more HP.
