With CGM delayed do i switch colors? HELP !!!! - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

With GM not painting any CGM right away, I am considering switching colors. I would like to know what you all think about the situation.

I do plan on dropping in a stroker motor, and painting stripes on the vehicle, so it should be quite unique....but do I want to wait the extra month for the vehicle? or so I change to silver ice metallic?

I would love to know what you all think, and if anybody else has faced this problem.

silver is a nice color, makes ugly cars look decent

I'd wait, because just as soon as you'd take delivery of your second choice, the CGM would end up being available (at least that's how my luck goes).

I understand that color choice is a very personal thing, but as I look out my office window at the parking lot of 300 plus cars what do I see?

...A sea of silver and gray and white cars of different shades. I would personally rather put a stick in my eye rather than order a white, silver, or gray car of any kind. I see way too many of them on the road here in sunny Florida.

FWIW...Pick another color and live with it! I wish GM would still allow special paint orders. Mine would be 67' Royal plum. I think most of the Camaro color choices are lack-luster.

I changed to IBM after we found out there was going to be a delay in CGM. The delay was not the only factor in my decision to change.

I will say that when I saw a c6 vette in CGM I like it....But I saw it on a Traverse at the Pittsburgh Auto show, and it looked horrible on that car. I guess that is one reason I was second guessing...

But hey...if Scotty says wait, then perhaps I will wait on it.

I'd been thinking the same thing...

When I first orderd the car. I wanted somethin ostentatious I wanted something that just screamed "self indulgent prick"... I wanted Hugger Orange... when that didnt happen... CGM was the next best...

Wait for the color... the blue flake in the sun makes EVERYTHING worth it....

I would wait without a doubt. When I was getting my new Vette last year I ordered a new 4LT Interior and it took two EXTRA MONTHS to get the material I wanted. I almost changed the order to a different interior just to get the car sooner, but held out for it.

I AM SOOOOO glad I waited. Corvettes are becoming fairly common, but less than 2% built last year had a 4LT Interior. Makes it a little more special.

As for my Camaro, if I have to wait for they options or color I want then I will wait.

AND The first time you see A CG Camaro and you are looking at your silver one you'll KICK yourself! I have seen the CG Corvette and it is a really awesome color!

as everyone else is saying... wait. it's only a month. always go with your #1 choice, and never settle for less! you will regret it.

I agree 100% with this... and this is why I'm not sure why everyone is so obsessed with CGM. There are so many gray/silver/white cars everywhere that I just don't think it will stand out as much...
