When you listen to the last few sentences from Mark Reuss he says that they are going to produce some cars around Christmas time to let their employees finish about 250,000 to half million miles of validation and then they are going to start building the cars when they are ready. Does that mean that they will not start production in January as previously stated? How long will it take to drive half a million miles? I am really looking forward to this car and I do want it built right but to me it sounds more like they will start production in March or April than in January. That would only be 3 or 4 months of production before the new model year plant break in mid July. Listen to the end of the video and let me know what you think.

Tough call, Jedi. Do the 250,000 miles all have to be on 1 car? It did sound very vague... "then, when we are ready, we will start to produce". We may be reading too much into it.

I read as saying they are staring production of the car around xmas time.
They already have a number of test mules out being driven by there staff. Plus some of them will be, 'I would suspect' running on some equipment testing the different weather conditions "perhaps non stop". We still have close to full three months before the new year starts.

For my own selfish reasons, I'm hoping production starts in February/March. If production does start in early January as planned, it's going to be really painful to accept delivery in February. The thought of having to store it right away for a few months (and perhaps drive it home in the snow) seems like some kind of twisted, sick joke. The horror!

I'm hoping to pick it up around the end of February, this would make
a great birthday gift to myself . If the weather is bad, I'm hoping that my dealer can hold it for me till I can drive it home safely.

Vettes have high limits, but when they let go, it can get hairy. The ZL1 will probably have gentler break-away characteristics, and be less twitchy.

The most interesting part of that video for me, was watching the
test car driving on the wet road conditions. The ZL1 seems to handle the wet roads really well considering all the power it has.
