Has anyone had a set of Richmond 3:73 gears fail? I have heard that the 4:10 gears had some problems. But have not heard of the problem with the 3:73 gears. Anyone with an A6 with 3:73?

Richmond gears are STREET gears only, they do not work for drag racing. see this link:

Ive heard of issues with these before. I will be doing AAM 3.90's when i do my gears.

My 3.73 richmonds just failed this passed weekend completely destroyed!!! right after that picture on my signature was taken those gears are the biggest piece of garbage i have ever seen i don't know how those people keep selling these things!

I was there too. I broke on my first pass. I think it was mine that failed too.

I saw it happen too! An A6 car on slicks should never be tearing gears up. Thats was absolutely BS

You are not the only ones with RG failures. There are other threads with pictures of shredded gears. Sorry, since both of you guys hooked so well on your broken runs.

They told me someone else's gears failed! It sounds like these things are pretty bad if 2 cars break the same gears at the same place! it was so bad never want to hear this sound come from my car again!!!
