Restore a Mopar OR buy a ZL1
Would you spend $50,000 - $65,000 restoring your dream Mopar or Muscle Car?
OR Would you trash that project and finance a ZL1? GO! |

Welcome to the site!!
Interesting first post...I don't know that I have an answer... I've edited the title so it doesn't end up in the "VS" section, just yet! |

is this strictly hypothetical, or is this something you're actually contemplating?

It's as real as you are. My project car is in the shop under a dusty tarp. But before I set the wheels in motion, I'm interested in some of the responses out there.

who says I'm real? This could be a computer generated response base upon the questions and key phrases that were submitted.
I say, go for the rebuild. For one, you refer to it as your "dream" Mopar. Second, you won't have that sense of satisfaction and accomplishment, if you buy a brand new car, that you would if you fully restore a classic. In the end, it's up to you though. The Road Runner is an awesome car. |

I uploaded some "before" photos of my project. But man, I just jizzed in my pants after visiting Chevy.com and watching the ZL1 videos. That's how my "what if I ..." questions came to be...

2010 SSRS,
How do you like that Camaro, looks like it could be around 70-71?

My dad and I had always planned on rebuilding a '70 Chevelle. Never had the opportunity and now we live on opposite sides of the country making it an impossibility. If it were a possibility though, I would definitely take the Chevelle over the ZL1.

I had a similar situation; my dad is too old to help work on the car. That and now I'm set to relocate out of state.
I actually never liked the newer Camaro. But the ZL1 is just about as hard to resist as a Boss 302 (probably shouldn't mentioned that here).

Thanks. Right now, it's scheduled to be disassembled and to have all the rust removed. I considered buying an air compressor, and a few other tools myself, but easier said than done. I have a hard time boiling eggs.
