If privacy is what you're after, I'd go with the legal maximum on all the windows but leave the windshield alone. The reduced light transmission in the rest of the car will aide in privacy in the windshield. If heat rejection is your ticket, then I would tint the windshield with an 80% or higher tint so it will look clear. |

if your going to dot he side do the back. IN my opinion they shouldnt have even put side windows. Most states allow the back windows to be as dark as you wont. Front side windows veries by state. I can tell you that doing the front isnt smart, it probably starts getting to be safety issue at night.

3M Crystalline
Is this a chemical tint, so then you don't have to worry a peeling or bubbles.

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 5 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 50% of light in. Back Side Windows Any darkness can be used. Rear Window Any darkness can be used. Ohio has great tint laws. |

Cali tint laws, like most other laws here, are garbage.
No tint is legal on the front 2 windows, but you can't go 2 seconds without seeing tint on the fronts. 2/3's of my cars have tinted front windows, 1 of them has really dark tint. If you're going to be driving in a area that has fog, don't get too dark with your fronts. It eliminates your best friend in fog, light. As for the front windshield, I still haven't figured out how many times you have to have been dropped on your head as a kid to do something that dumb.

You may want to google window tinting laws in (put your state of course).
This is what CA brought up. Can I put after-market tinting on the windows of my vehicle? The main requirements for legal window tinting in California are: The windshield and front driver's side and passenger's side windows cannot receive any aftermarket tinting. If the rear window of a vehicle is tinted, the vehicle must have outside rearview mirrors on both sides. The law prohibits any person from driving any motor vehicle with any object or material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied upon the windshield or side or rear windows, with certain limited exceptions. However, legislation signed into law effective January 1, 1999, exempts from the above prohibition specified clear, colorless, and transparent material that is installed, affixed, or applied to the front driver and passenger side windows for the specific purpose of reducing ultraviolet rays. If, as, or when this material becomes torn, bubbled or otherwise worn, it must be removed or replaced. http://www.chp.ca.gov/html/answers.html |

The State Boys around here are pretty ruthless on the tint. Im pretty sure you can only do 35% on the front side and as dark as you want on the back.

here is the answer to your tint questions it wont affect the rear defroster, just conirm with your installer. And with the whole half inch thing and letting it dry your not suppose to roll the windows down for like three days. I waited a week on my car. Tinting is nothing to be scared of, people have been doing this for years on cars, there is nothing new to the process. Just because its new the camaro is not going to throw an installer a curve ball. This car is nothing special when it comes to getting tint.

Ohio tint laws changed 2 years ago. It is very vague, here it is. 4513.241 Using tinted glass and other vision obscuring materials. (A) The director of public safety, in accordance with Chapter 119. of the Revised Code, shall adopt rules governing the use of tinted glass, and the use of transparent, nontransparent, translucent, and reflectorized materials in or on motor vehicle windshields, side windows, sidewings, and rear windows that prevent a person of normal vision looking into the motor vehicle from seeing or identifying persons or objects inside the motor vehicle. It does not give a certain percentage anymore

Michigan's is weird...
Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 4 inches of the windshield. Front Side Windows: Any darkness can be applied 4" inches from the top of the window. (wtf?) Back Side Windows: Any darkness can be used. Rear Window: Any darkness can be used. I've been thinking about this too, but I'm still undecided... |

you can use the chinese front window tint. its clear but will block like 95% of the uv rays and help keep the car cool. and use proper tint and not the cheap shit. use titanium. there is also another brand that is by 3m which really keeps the car cool but forgot the name.
