If you got the money, you can get just about any crate engine you want but not from the factory. You would have to get the car and the engine and put them together.

You can buy a LS7 crate engine and replace the LS3 or just build the LS3 would be a LOT more economical and get the same power

for the money you'd spend on an LS7, you could well surpass the power output with a built LS3. just look at the (dare i say it) hennessey car - 8 grand for a blower, intake, & tune and he's already over 550hp. to the OP, you can put anything you want in it... it just depends on how much work, time, & money you're willing to invest. any of the newer LS engines will be the easiest & best options to go with. |

the ZO6 motor should fit because isnt it just the LS3 with twin turbos on it. You would have to make sure there is hood clearance. But you can only get the factory options that others have said. Before you buy a crate motor make sure you talk to somebody that knows what they are doing and make sure the engine would fit. Instead of buying a new motor I would get a charger or turbos put on that. A charger would run you about 4 or 5 and would be cheaper than a new motor with install, and a charger should give you mid 500's to 600hp, which is as much as the vette. Twin turbos would run you 8.

sorry, but half of that's just flat wrong! the Z06 uses a naturally aspirated engine, the LS7 it's a 427ci (7.0L) engine, but it is still a GenIV LS block, meaning it shares the same external dimensions as its siblings like the LS2, LS3, etc. there is no clearance issue, as seen on the LS7 Camaro from SEMA turbos also typically don't interfere with hood clearance - that would mainly be a supercharger issue, which has been shown a few times to not be a problem either. this particular S/C kit puts you around 550hp for about $8k installed... that's about what you'd pay for a twin turbo kit, but i'd expect a little more power from the turbos. you do have a good point in mentioning that you should check for clearance issues before buying an engine, but unless you're going with a big block or some crazy blower scoop, i doubt it'll be an issue. |

The ZO6 is all motor friend. If you have the money you can fit any motor in the car you want. |

sorry thought the LS7 had twin turbos or it was available. but all in all the LS7 is SIMILAR not exact to the LS3. The key is if you have the money to make it fit, think he would be better off with a charger or turbos on the LS3 a lot les mods.

Why do you think it won't fit exactly?
