the issues with the very early gen 4 was when u had a light attached. They would lock open when not empty. They were flawless without a tac light attached.

The fix was a new recoil spring. The issue didn't last long and was a couple years ago now. If u buy anew gen 4 now, u will be fine.

I swear by glocks myself, but u should shoot the xd, m & p, and the sig before deciding.

We got rid of our Glocks and now carry the MP .40. AWESOME gun....and I love it that much more than the Glock. In fact, it was the employees of Glock who left Glock and went to Smith and Wesson with their new designs for the M&P. SW picked up on them and built it. MUCH better firearm (in my opinion).

I had the M&P .40 and sold it for a Sig. Couldn't stand the trigger on the S&W. But have a buddy who loves it. Try as many as you can before you buy!

I still can't get used to my P290's trigger pull.

I have not really gotten used to my 290 trigger either. Usually use my 226 9mm or 229 .40, and love those triggers. So different from the 290.

I like the Kahr PM9's trigger pull a LOT better. So, I will be making the swap as soon as funds allow
