I am planning to visit the dyno again soon, hopefully within the next 2-3 weeks if/when I can get in. I'll run the latest iteration of the intake vs stock as usual, but this time I will also test a leading competitors intake at the same time.

those are good runs. i trapped the same mph speed at the 1/8 mile but i got horrible 60ft times. did a 2.14 60ft and got a 8.52 at 88.9 mph with the same setup you have but instead of the stock manifolds i have bbk shorty headers and jbas offroad midpipe.. oh and a volant cold air intake. hopefully you get the intake into production. engineering an intake seems harder than it looks!

i also noticed on the vid that your using Corvette rims! right! arent those 19inch rims?

No news is good news, right? Still waiting on mold construction for the MAF pieces.

I have located a closer dyno, so I won't have to drive 4 hrs, and am trying to get dyno time scheduled to run the 3 intakes (Stock, Cold Rush, and a top selling competitor's intake) for next Saturday, I plan on renting the dyno for 2 hours. The competitor's intake will not be named, but you should be able to guess which one I will test fairly easy.

Well that's a step in the right direction I'm on deck for an intake very soon. I'm waiting for you to give me a reason to buy yours instead of one of the others. Convince me man, convince me...

Someone already has the dyno reserved for the 9th-12th, so I had to make my appt. for the 18th. The test will be more scientific I think than anything, an it will also be my last run on the dyno testing this intake, and this car for that matter.

In this test, I plan to idle the car to stabilize the CLT at it's lowest point with the rad. fans using a trick similar to this one: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=183947 , at which point I will allow the fans to fun normal and begin a series of 3-6 pulls to hopefully obtain a baseline (or at least an average)... After I feel sufficient data has been logged, I will allow the car to idle for appx. 5 min, make 3-5 pulls, idle for another 5 min and make 3-5 more pulls... This should take appx 15-20 min. for each intake, which should more than be sufficient enough to demonstrate the worst possible conditions in stop and go traffic. Repeat for each intake.

The idea behind this is to hopefully show which intake will allow the most power instantly, and for the longest duration once heat is applied, whether it be stock, my own, or the unnamed competitor. No 60mph winds here, no scoops, just pure unadulterated heat in the real world. What's going to last the longest?

If we prevail, and that doesn't convince you, nothing will. If we don't... Well, I guess it's time to throw in the towel and you guys can run out and buy the competitors intake and I will either "cash out" intake name contest winner, or buy them the intake of their choice.

From reading this thread your theories and thoughts on the design have me confident it will work very well. Honestly I'm just waiting for it to become available...

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.
