I agree and sounds like an alternate plan to the forced induction route. Will have to see what's available this time next year when I get my IMO SS in my driveway, at that point the gloves are off. ")

David Hamburger announced over the weekend that SLP will be offering a supercharger package on the G8. It will also come with a warranty.

I would be very surprised if a similar package did not show up on the Camaro...

Best regardSS,

Elie

I plan on adding forced induction to my camaro. I don't know whether it will be a supercharger or turbo yet. I'll be giving it some time to see comes to the market.

SOME dealers will do a magnacharger install and allow the warranty to stay.

I like the idea of a 50% (or so) power increase with a "simple" bolt on, and the whine is nice to hear,.... but I do REALLY like the sound of a lopey cam. Something with high lift and nice lobe sep. Nothing so crazy I'll need a vacuum can, but enough to let other motorheads know a POWERBLOCK is on the street!

I just emailed my dealer, and got this:

Me: "GMPP has not announced they will be offering a supercharger for the Camaro LS3, but I’ve heard that some dealerships will keep the warranty on a vehicle if they use a Magnacharger installed by the dealership. Do you know if Graff has in the past, or would be willing to keep the warranty on a vehicle with a dealer installed supercharger?"

His Response: "Good Morning Kevin,
As long as it is installed by a Dealer (any performance part) it will not void your warranty."

So I'm optimistic. Granted I'd love to do the install myself or at a custom shop, but keeping the warranty is worth having them do it.

Yay first post!

I voted for a supercharger. However, I would also like a big lopey cam along with head work and an intake.

My buddy makes custom front and rear mount turbo kits for F-bodies and Vettes so I'll probably end up taking my 5th gen to him. After some fun at low boost for a little while it'll be time to forge the LS3 and throw 16-18lbs of boost at it.

are you joking? your gonna need to do alot more then get forged innards to run that amount of boost. your rear end and trans will need a rebuild as well.

thats like a 1200hp setup....you realize that 7lbs gets like 700hp right?

Everyone seems to be for supercharging but I think I'd go for a turbo setup. Though it's more complicated I just want to be different and I like superchargers just as much as turbos btw so Im not hating. In reality my car will most likely stay n/a but if the need for more power ever came up i know what i'm doing
