Touch up paint won't work on IOM because there is pearl in the original paint. My husband looked up the paint code for someone, he also bought touch up paint for the engine cover and it just rolls right off.

The touch up paint (small canister with brush) for IOM is crap.

It looks NOTHING like what it should. The dealership bodyshop provided me with a properly mixed can of the real stuff.

However, as the original post states... this item still has not been fixed. The regional GM Rep is still not available to see my car.

It's been 6 weeks now.

Damn dude, I can not for the life of me figure out why you are getting the run around so bad. Mine started on Sept 10th and was fixed two weeks later. No one at GM ever looked at it. I sent a pic in email to my dealer and he told me to take it to the bodyshop when I was ready.

I am sure this has been said but have you tried another dealer?

No I haven't. I probably should, but I just haven't had time to drive all over the state to try and get the item fixed.

Verio, as you can see by my dealer's first attempt, it was sub-par.

I had them re-do it today and this is much better.

I take it you've run this up to management at the dealership? Mine wasn't a touch-up. It was a re-spray and blend.

I was on the phone daily with the Bodyshop Manager. This isn't the dealership I purchased it from. The dealership I purchased it from is a long ways away.

This dealership has been pretty cool about it... but the Bodyshop manager was completely honest and said that the Regional GM rep said that the only authorized work they will get paid for is a "touch up". They are not allowed to remove any panels, sand, or paint.

The touch up was a good attempt, but the Bodyshop manager was honest and said there's no way he would accept it either.

So, he got a hold of the regional manager, we sent him pictures of my car, and a link to my previous thread, with other peoples issues (and pictures) included.

He said he'd need to look at it in person, and he wont be available for another month.

So... here I am. Bodyshop manager says he'll give me a call the next time the GM rep is coming through the area.

I don't usually get worked up, but it's a crock of shit.

Fbodfather PM'd me and told me to call the GM Customer Service number. The bodyshop manager advised me against it. He told me that it's going to get routed through the regional guy anyway, and it still wont get done any quicker, and might make it worse.

Not sure what to do here, since I assume it's the same rep for the dealers in the immediate area.

I haven't taken delivery on mine yet, But after hearing all of this kind of thing happening I think I'll opt for the 60 day money back guarantee instead of the 500$ discount. If I have any or even a portion of this kinda stuff happening to my car they can take it back period.

I think I'd take fbodfather's advice. I think they'll ultimately fix it right for you, but call them also about the delay and how long it's taking to get this resolved. 40k for a new car and you shouldn't be chasing an issue like this for this long.

I also have this problem as the picture shows in thread 17. The dealership I purchased from has seen this on a few other 2SS/RS. The paint seems to be coming off of the bumper rather than the rear quarter panel. They are going to fix no questions asked.

Verio call the customer assistance line, its not going to hurt you and it will get the ball rolling.

Roni no need to opt for the satisfaction guarantee, the issues you are reading about on here are primarily with the early cars, your car will be fine, take the $500.

GM knows of this issue, it was a problem with some early cars and the bumper fasteners being overtorqued. If you have this issue your dealer should be taking care of you no questions asked, verios dealer seems to be the only one not addressing this issue.
