Why can't there be no sightings in Los Angeles, I would've loved to seen the pre-production in person. I was hoping to catch one around LAX when they were in town being unloaded of those planes.

Long time no post but I've always been following up, I've been following this forum for a while and too bad I haven't logged on more often. This forum rocks

I just figured out the rope. It is what's left over from hogtying Shunt. They just left it hanging out the back as a reminder of what will happen to all those who don't believe that what they see are :notheadlights:

You know...it's a preproduction model, maybe the rope is the trunk release and the reason it's outside the trunk is to keep Shunt in!

Next on CSI.

We have started an investigation on the where abouts of Scott during the time when Shunt went missing.

I can't shut up..., all 3 pillars??
I heard those Japanese body men were making some exotic bends, I assumed it was the deep 1/4 panel to c-pillar bend, but then there's no weld.
Take a look at the Sky and Solstice... Body panels are formed by Hydroforming, using water pressure to gently mold the metal into the shape.
I wonder if it is going to be used on the Camaro?

Well it's not that gentle... it still uses a huge die as the 'male' form and the water as the 'female' which exerts the resistance needed smash the sheetmetal. The Solstice/Sky hood is the largest stamping GM or probably anyone else has ever done and the advantage of using water is that it exerts pressure on the sides of the huge wrap-over hood to allow the entire shape to be formed in one operation, but there's nothing gentle about it. And there's no need for it with the Camaro.

I would have thought they would have used this to form those large side structures that they have been so proud of.

I'd worked in the automotive business in dealerships (parts department) and bodyshops (estimator) for ten years and I always thought it was so cool to watch cars get repaired. The engineering is amazing and probably what pushed me to become so interested in the structural integrity of a vehicle. I've been so obsessed, too, that I've added several pounds to my '02 in the way of SLP SFCs, a torque arm that ties the floor and subframes together, strut tower bar, etc. It's nice to learn that GM has taken steps to make this car really rigid and I think that will result in a feeling of a "tighter" car.

I agree. Someone will be getting fired for this.
Why would anyone reasonably get fired for this? There is nothing revealing in the picture. I don't get it. Like it's a big secret that there is an assemly line at Oshwa?

EDIT: And who the hell is "shunt"? There is no username for that?????
