LS3 exhaust back-down.

Ok I am sure some of you have figured this out by now and wanted to let the future owners know about this..

Ok when you are starting to slow-down you can hear the exhaust start to "pop"..

Kinda like the old glass packs..

It usually does it best in 4th and 5th gear.. its louder in 4th though..

I can even hear it with the windows up..

So just thought I would share with you guys.. I will update with a video probably tommorrow!

My LS3 does the same thing and it's more of an RPM thing, mine will do it in any gear...

I have the GM Performance exhaust and it pops at 2200RPM and at 1400RPM. Most pronounced at 1400.

So, this is normal? Do they all do this with the muffler delete or in general?

Thanks

It's normal in most manual vehicles, he'll even my little 4 banger S10 does it. You'll really notice it going down hills while engine braking.

Its normal, my old 355 in my 84 TA, my friends 98 LS1 Auto Camaro, my 04 GTO, and many other cars do it. Its more pronounced when the exhaust is modded. Some people like it some don't.

Its normal and music to me and my wife’s ears. We smile every time we hear it. It made that sound constantly in my mountain road trip.

My car did it when I had the stock manifolds. It went away when I put headers on it.

Bummer that is almost a reason not to put long tube headers on besides the exhaust leak and warranty void issues.

Same here and it is so much better now that we have the Corsa cat back system installed!
