HUD would be cool. I'd like the t-tops if they could do it w/out messing up the gorgeous coupes lines. It's not going to happen, though...too many issues. Never heard anything about 5 star crash test rating on the t-tops, though. I know we talked about the crash test rating and the b-pillar....which reminds me...

THINGS I'D LIKE TO SEE TAKEN AWAY:

GET RID OF THE B-PILLAR!!!

As far as one V6 and two V8's...
I think GM would sell less this way. A completely base V6 would get everyone would could just barely afford a new 5th Gen. Then, the hi-po V6 would be the great option for those who could afford the base V8, but couldn't afford the insurance. Then, you have the entry level V8 (which would have to be 30-40hp over the hi-po V6 to make it appealing enough for those to buy it over the V6. Then, you have your main mid-level V8 which most people will buy. Then, a balls to the wall, no joke FAST engine.

hmmm. I see, I see: the 3.9L 260 +/- hp base V6....then I see: the 3.6 L 300 hp V6 high end...then, ahhhh yes a de-tuned LS3...somewhere in the 360 hp range...a regular LS3 @ oh...420 hp, and of course....it's coming to me...AH HA! the supercharged Monster itself...THE LS9!!! Coming to us in 550 +/- hp of raw power!

I really don't think GM can afford to fit multiple V8's into this car at this point. The Smart move would be to use a widely used V8... hmm. which motor to use?

so...to recap (without the ooohs and ahhhs)
CHEVROLET CAMARO 'Probable' Engine options:
1
.........................2.......................3.............................4.......................5.......................
3.9L 260 +/- hp....3.6L 300hp V6.....LS3 @ 360 +/- hp.....LS3 @ 420 hp.....LS3 S/C @ 500+ hp

I hope I really am phsycic...

EDIT: feel free to change the above list if you so choose....

Having the LS3 at 2 different horsepower ratings is HORRIBLE for publicity, and it will never happen (the supercharger is different you have obvious parts added to even the most basic car engine ignorant masses)

customer: why does the same engine have 2 different hp #'s?
salesman: well we changed the tune in the engine to where one is better for MPG and the other is for HP #'s
Customer: OK, I will buy the cheaper one and have a shop retune it and save thousands of dollars...

Talking

to the poster that suggested the 3.7 I-5 that engine was only in the Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, and the Hummer H3. it is rated at i think 220-250. the trailblazer, gmc envoy, buick rainer (formerly the oldsmobile bravada) have the 4.2 I6 engine rated at 275-285 depending on the year as the base engine, a 5.3 300hp engine is optional and a 6.0 400hp engine is in the trailblazer SS. I personally HATE the I-5 engine, they should offer a V6 if the I-6 doesn't fit under the hoods of the small GM trucks (which I don't believe, its the same reason that they say the HEMI does not fit under the hood of the Dodge Dakota, but it fits under the hood of the Dodge Durrango which is based off of the Dakota ).

hey! you know some useless info, too!
I'm SO glad I'm not alone

but back on topic. I, too, don't see the point of the I5, or I6....why the hell do you want 1 extra cyllider than a four-banger....Then, why alter a perfectly good V6 by making it longer

Definitely outside-of-the-box thinking...but not what I'd like to see coming out of GM R+D....

My wife wants a soudproof glass panel between the driver and passenger so she doesn't have to hear me rave about my car!

Ditto. Except I think I want it to be metal and not clear. That way we don't lose the coupes roof lines.

Something I'd also like to see is a spare tire key holder so the darn key lug doesn't have to roll around in my center console or glove box. Plus, it'll make it harder for theives to steel the tires off of the car if they break in real quick. They won't know the key is in the trunk w/ the spare. That would piss off the theives!..and keep my tires/rims!
