awesome looking. But I'll wait til a 'hole in the hood' is made. I'm just drawn to that look more than the original-IMO.
Awesome photos of the new car these last couple months. I hope it really comes out a winner. |

I've never been a fan of a single fat stripe; Le Mans stripes have always been more to my tastes, but the hockey stripes are pretty nice.
That being said, I'm sure this was probably some testers screwing around rather than a real stripe package. As for the "supercharger whine" I thought we'd just heard a few days ago that there was only going to be 1 V6 and 1 V8 at launch... I sincerely doubt they'd debut with a S/Ced V8 so maybe the whistle is something else? Or perhaps they're just testing the S/C for future release.

The G8 GT does weigh over 4000 lbs. Most of the reviewed versions weighed over 4100.

Ok we are starting to get plenty of pics thanks to camera phones. I loved this last one but when will the videos start pouring in? Oh and if GM is reading this. Please please road test in NJ. I promise I won't follow you around to much.

Right then...I do remember that. I must've been mixing up the V6 weight w/ the GT model...isn't there are model that weighs in @ 3995 or something like that?

The official curb weight of the G8 GT is 3995, with a full tank of gas and fluids its closer to 4100. But for reference everyone uses curb weight becuase things like fluids/gas/driver are all dependent on the situation.

You are correct that you don't need a vent opening for a forced induction car. It would just add to the overall impression of the car. The whinnig I was reffering to on a high compression engine was by using a gear setup instead of belts. Perhaps they have put in a "Blue Devil" engine just to see what it would be like?

Anyone else notice this got picked up on Jalopnik already?
They also refer to us as a "very aggressively marketed forum" whatever that means...
