When I see other cars driving around I always see the little badge/sticker on the back end with the dealer name and location on them. Does anyone know if those can be eliminated, or do you think the dealer would have a sh** stroke about it. I wouldn't mind a license plate holder with the dealer name if they insisted, but I don't want the badge/sticker at all. What do you think?

You have a couple of options;

1. If you're ordering, you can ask the dealer NOT to put the dealer badge on. I've done it and haven't had any problems.

2. If the car already has one, it can be removed. If it's a metal badge, simply use some heat (a hair dryer works) and some fishing line and "voila". If it's adhesive lettering, again, a little heat, and they come right off.

Yep, I've always requested no badges if it was a vehicle I ordered. If I bought off the lot I removed it as soon as I had the chance

They didn't put one on my car. Thank God...but they did give us a "complimentary license plate cover"...

Which I propmtly removed.

The way I see it. It's MY car, not the dealers anymore.

I like those heat/fishing line tips: excellent, useful knowledge

My car had a sticker on the bumper... so I just peeled the sticker off!

That reminds me.. I have a stupid "Ken Batchlor" or whatever sticker on my dad's cts I need to take off for him.

well you can't really blame the dealers for trying to use your car for advertising can you?

A sticker on a CTS??? I'd slap'em. Now, a nice chrome finished badge on the other hand, I wouldn't mind. But, a sticker? Yup. I'd take that right off too. I can't believe Ken Batchelor puts stickers on their Caddies. That's sad.

I've done the fishing line (actually dental floss) when I took the badges off of my SS to put on the stainless steel ones. It was a ***** getting the adhesive off. But, if you use that hair dryer, it sure speeds up the process.

I'd be fine with it if it's like on the Saab I drive now, a little bit of text on the bottom of the rear license plate. More then that, no way.

When my uncle bought his car the dealer had a badge on it. He asked the salesman if they were going to pay him to advertise their dealership. The salesman said no, so the badge came off. If you don't want it, make them take it off. There are plenty of dealership who don't do that, so if they want to be competitive, they have to take it off.

I understand if it is a dealer-custom model, as my Cobalt was modified by the Dealer's performance and design shop and comes with one special badge, but on standard models, no, a plastic license plate frame that can be easily replaced is all they should add.

Badges came off the toyota (was just a clear sticker with white lettering) and my dodge got completely debadged (factory badging went as well).

My camaro wont have any either unless its aftermarket dressup.

If it looks tasteful i have no problem. but when it doesn't match the car or looks like crap. I have an issue.

I use a heat gun on it's lowest setting. but be very careful. Sometimes spraying them down with really hot water will work if you don't have access to a heatgun or hair dryer.

There is a dealer in my area that sells Cadillac's. Their 'badge' is actually a very attractive/tasteful symbol in chrome. Not large, just enough to notice.

If you didn't know it belonged to the dealership you'd think it was something the driver put on themselves, or a special model designation.

I actually had to ask what it was after seeing it a couple times.

Well, that kind of defeats the whole purpose doesn't it? If you can't tell what it is, then you certainly wouldn't be able to tell what dealer they bought it from... unless you already knew.

The only place nearby that I know of who does that (other than the license plate frame) is a Ford Dealer. Theirs is a silver star that says Ford of Kirkland. It's not big, but I certainly wouldn't want it on my car.
