Cool desert proving ground for Camaro test cars

heard something unusual at the desert proving ground this morning, a ls series motor at full song on the high speed circle, sunday morning whats up!!
went down to my favorite spot where you can see part of the track albeit partially obstructed by the guard rail and lo and behold a white car that was the same size and shape as the new camaro and hauling ass!!!.

Welcome to the boards!

IF it's the Camaro, and even if it's not - I doubt they'll be there for today only. Pick up a Camera, and shoot some photos! :p

Interesting. Well way to introduce yourself on these boards. Welcome indeed. Yes, if you can get pictures we'll be thrilled. Not too long ago I saw pictures on Edmunds of a white Chevy sedan they speculated was being used as a Zeta test mule, so maybe this is the same.

Welcome. I don't know if that would be the Camaro of not. The only picture that we have of the camaro in testing was in Australia, and last time I checked they had a nice sized desert there. and don't they normally do desert testing in the summer? But then again, there must have been something there because you did hear it. It could have been one of any number of things, and sightings of things in the south west desert tend to be of whatever the observer wants them to be. Not saying it cant be the Camaro. Get some pics and it will be easier to tell one way or the other, or at least lengthen the discussion

Where is your vantage point.. i've looked for one near the track and cant find a good spot due to the 12 ft berm and 8 ft fence around the whole facility.. I live at power and ray so I'm literally 2 blocks from the PG and will sit out their on the weekends if this is true..

First, welcome to the site, Yellowbird. Just thinking about spotting the concept out there gets my blood pumping. Maybe 1bad67camaro's friend was sincere....maybe there is a concept out there. Pictures would be awesome. Of course, we all know how hard that would be to get. Shoot...if I lived out there, you'd see some fool up on a 10ft ladder w/ a water bottle in one hand and a camera in the other peering over that fence!

That's when I'd tell them I already snapped a few pix of it and if they want the pix back, they have to give me an up close and personal. If not, I'm up on my perch! As far as I know, there aren't any laws preventing someone from peering over a fence for photography of a car....of people for certain "reasons", yes illegal. But of cars? Not that I know of.
