Water blade drying?
Anyone use a water blade for drying? Those silicone hand held deals? I feel like they may reduce the risk of swirls. Obviously, they won't remove all the water, but they look slick. Thoughts?

Yes they reduce the chance of swirls, but you highly increase the risk of one particle causing a deep gouging scratch in the paint. If there is one little piece of dirt on the paint, you could be left with a RID scratch that can't be polished out. Let me find you a video on it. There was a test on 3 cars that were polished to perfection. These things caused more damage then a car wash with brushes!

thoughts? Cringe. long deep scratch
Personally i use an electric leaf blower. No swirls with that.

I use one every wash. It works great. Just be careful with it.
Edit: on second thought after reading some of the other posts I may stop using it.

Yeah, that video is very informative. If there are any small particles that land on your paint before you go over it with the water blade, you're most likely going to get some swirls.
Use a leaf blower instead.

As long as you have a good coat/coats of polish on the car (or wax), doing the sheeting method and a single 100% cotton towel is all that should be needed IMO.
