Talking Specter Werkes GTZ Hood installed...

First off I’d like to thank Jeff, Matt and the rest of the crew at Specter Werkes for this great opportunity and the VIP treatment while I was there.

As for the product, all I can say is that I ‘m floored. Their product surpasses OEM fit and finish as well as quality. I honestly can say the gaps between the fenders, cowl and front fascia are perfect. The hood is a direct bolt on and includes all necessary hardware including grill screen and bezel. The swap only took about an hour and they spent most of that lining up the hood. The must be perfectionist like me… One thing to note, when removing the hood the plastic clips that hold the washer solvent rubber line are non-serviceable. If you break them the only way you can get them is to order the whole plastic washer nozzle bracket assembly. My stock hood weighed in at 25 lbs and the GTZ hood is close; still waiting on the official number from Jeff on that. Jeff also stated that the hood not only adds an aggressive look (which I love by the way), but it is a functional hood and it releases high pressure air and heat from the engine bay.

The GTZ Hood does cost a bit more but it’s worth every penny. Remember that the hood is built using ACS’s proprietary RTM process (Resin Transfer Molding) it is injected using continuous glass mat and a specially formulated vinyl-ester resin to meet strict durability standards. The inner hood is trimmed using a precision CNC water jet cutter while the panels are bonded using OE spec adhesive. The GTZ hood is then hand finished ready for final prep. Reinforced hardware is incorporated in the design for safety and warrant a perfect fit. Further more, the hood is also offered in Carbon Fiber.

Like I mentioned above, I’m floored with the fit and finish of the GTZ hood. Specter Werkes has an awesome product on their hands…

I’ll let the pictures speak for them selves…

You mean people actually drive their cars in the rain?

Just kidding, mine goes everywhere.

It will drain between the radiator and the front of the engine; actually fall right to the ground.

Mine sleeps in the garage and only gets caught in the rain once in a while.

Jeff stated that the Magnuson and Edelbrock EForce fit, which means the GM blower will fit as well. The only blower he was not sure of was the Kenne Bell.

Still something to consider.....maybe the price has dropped a lil since then. I'll look into it

Check Lingenfelter $895... http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...gory_Code=C370

And not to be cynical but will 5lbs really make a difference when you think about that blower you got? Just make sure it'll clear. I think it will because it almost looks like the stocker.

Seriously though the reduced under hood heat and the high speed lift reduction is worth the sacrifice. It's the best looking option in my opinion.

When I get mine I'm thinking the Hood with the Mail Slot conversion and maybe the T3 ports... It'll look great.

yeah 5lbs is nothing relative to my WHP levels. My chiller kit helps the IATs but a cooler overall temp under the hood will help as well :P
