Found the company that made the hood insert for ZL1

hey guys was doing some research for a client and stumbled upon this!

http://debotech.com/wordpress/?p=225

debotech a private company that works with composites more importantly carbon fiber and worked with GM to create the (not reversed) "mohawk" in the hood.

I am going to contact them and see if they could re-produce the piece to work with the current ss hood. Lil Different of course so GM dosnt get pissed haha

"deBotech has been working closely with Delux Technologies and with the engineers at General Motors to design a new, sleek version of the Camaro GT Hood Scoop, a.k.a., The Mohawk. The Mohawk sits proud in the middle of the Camaro’s hood and is 100% carbon fiber with a flat black finish option at purchase as seen below. Why you would want to cover up the beautiful carbon fiber is beyond CarbonHans’ understanding but then again he is “Carbon Hans” so he is a little biased. Either way, the Mohawk is Bad Ass. Check out the video and pics below to see if you agree"

Nice find!

I'm still wondering what the finish of the Mohawk insert will be if you don't opt for the stripe package. The nice presenter ladies at the autoshow mentioned that it would be painted the same body color as the vehicle, but I'm not so sure they know what they're talking about half the time.

An exposed carbon fiber option would be nice (but expensive).

Just the hood insert. The roof and trunk on the show car had what looked like a vinyl stripe applied to the roof and trunk/spoiler to match the black hood insert.

There is no reverse "Mohawk" on the hood.

I vote for a natural carbon fiber look for the hood heat extractor.

You can bet GM copyright protected the design and contracted deBotech for the MOHAWK ... So don't expect them to release it!

If they did, I would definitely jump on one though

^ yea I know that was going to happen... however if they offerd somthing that was close but diff. enough to get around the GM copyright that would be cool to.
