your wide tire patch will help a little but you are going to need suspension mods....I lost traction going through the gears in the middle of 4th at around 85-90 mph and was a little sideways for a split second...suspension parts were on order the next day. Much better afterwards...until I had another 115 rwhp added. I would guess with the whipple you will be in the upper 500 rwhp depending on what oterh supporting mods are going on...have fun, be careful...especially on cold tires

I should probably state I have an auto. Suspension is definitely next. Needs a drop anyway

The big 315s will help. If you want to spin the tires, you`ll easily be able to. Just feel it out a little once you get the new mods. If you want to go to the track and be consistent. You will need some DRs. One thing for sure, it`s going to be a whole new car with the SC on it. Enjoy!

More power means easier loss of traction. Suspension mods will help a little but not too much. The driver getting used to the car is the best mod for traction.

Get a hold of Pete at Pedders. They have perfected getting that kind of power to the ground. Many, many members on here have and their cars fly.

Agreed.....with caveat.....you need tires. Street tires are useless with forced induction. Invos don't count.

I have 556 with Nitto 555r they work great on hot summer days but overall traction could be better. Plus you have to know the feel of the car. And if you drive yours like I do mine (500 miles/mnth) thats hard!

Tires and practice will definitely help. Suspension upgrades, particularly in the rear end, will help a lot. Rear trailing arms, toe rods, sub frame bushings, and differential bushings will make a world of difference. When your car begins to accelerate these bushings and suspension/chassis components deflect. Under normal driving conditions this flexing is negligible but when the car is launched aggressively, especially in cars that are making considerably more power than stock, the deflection causes significant toe changes which reduce the contact patch of the rear tires. This obviously leads to a reduction in traction which can not be over come with tires and practice alone. Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions.

I have found that the CONTINENTAL EXTREMES are a good street tire with a lot more traction that my ZEROs. I'm around 550 rwhp so I wanted a good YEAR ROUND tire that was also good in the rain. These are considered an ALL WEATHER TIRE. 265s x 20s up front and 315s x 20s in the rear. I don't track my car often but I'll use drag radials next time for more traction but need something better in the rain.
