THE Z28 REALLY EXISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whether it be a model or not, this is PROOF that motor trend was RIGHT for once . The proof is in the picture

I also, notice a Silver convertible in the background, just over Mr. Lee's left shoulder, with what seem to be experimental front end designs on the wall just above the convertible's roof

Now, can someone help me pick my jaw up off of the floor?

Pass the salt and pepper. As long as my foot is in my mouth, I might as well enjoy the taste. Nice find!

My 12 year old son just asked me why I bought an RS/2SS, if there is going to be a Z-28. Can't I have them both, pleeeeeaaaaasse?

Loving the lower front end design.

Im not sure why GM would produce a Z28 when the SS has always ben top of th line. Doesnt the SS stand for SUPER SPORT, which indacate the top of the line camaro.i thought the RS and Z28 was always the model below the SS model.Could some one explain this thinking or have i missed some info somewhere!

I always thought the Z28 was the overall performance car...not necessarily the highest HP or the fastest in a straight line...but overall track type car?

I know in the 60s the Z28, when brought to production was not the highest HP car...the SS was!

I think it has actually varied over the years, I'm know a few people here will go into specifics, but do you really want a 426hp engine as the top model? (if theres going to be 3 of them)

Not true only the 4th gen were the roles reversed. Z28 started out only for a certain sanctioned race(trans am, i believe). When you checked off option RPO Z27 you got a SS. The next RPO was Z28 and the press ran away with it. 1967 Z28's didn't even have any badges on them, just stripes. Plus the SS wasn't produced for 26 years and the top of the line Camaro was Z28.

WELL THAT WAS KINDA OF MY POINT. IF GM WAS GOING TO PRODUCE A Z28, THEN THAT IS THE MODEL IT SHOULD HAVE BEN. THEN PRODUCE AN SS THAT WAS BETTER THEN 426 HP. GM SEEMS TO BE DOING THINGS BACKWARDS
AS FAR AS WANTING AN SS AT 426HP AS THE TOP MODEL OF COURSE NOT, BUT I WOLDNT THING YOU WOULD PUT A LOWER BADGEING OF A CAR OVER A HIGHER BADGEING OF CAR LIKE THE SS
GM SHOULD HAVE PRODUCED A Z28 WITH 426 HP LS3/L99, AND THEN PRODCE AN SS PUSHING WELL OVER THE 426HP MARK.

I wonder how much money I'm going to end up saving by buying someone's 2SS/RS who traded it in for a Z28...

i seem to recall it as having changed for different model years. some years SS being top dog, others the Z/28.

when i think of the SS i think of a powerful engine with the creature comforts, the stuff that puts a little more luxury on the inside of the car.
Z/28 to me says Bigger engine than an SS, and not so many comforts.

who knows, maybe i'm terribly wrong and mis-informed.

but either way....

that car is the definition of awesomeness.
