TR6060 Upgrades When You Replace Your Clutch

It was suggested I create a thread that outlines the upgrades one might do while they have the trans out to upgrade the clutch on the TR6060, so here it is.

I did the following while I had my trans out. A lot of this can be accomplished with the trans in, but having it out certainly makes it easier and reduces duplication of effort. As with any upgrades, there varied opinions on the efficacy of each upgrade, but I felt these were cheap and easy enough to do that it made more sense to do them than have to do them later with the trans still in, or worse have to take the trans out. Only a couple are mine, so many thanks to the guys who did the others and all the guys who have done the various DIYs I have used. This site gets banged up elsewhere for the number of "what's the best CAI" threads, but it truly is the best place to get good ideas on how to mod your GenV.

GTO Clutch Reservoir Install

Monster Billet Support Bearing

Tick Remote Clutch Bleeder Install

TR6060 Bronze Isolator Cup

TR6060 Tail Housing Support Bearing

This list is not all inclusive as there are probably other related mods I have missed. I did also install a short throw shifter with a Hurst handle, but it was not a Hurst shifter so I did not include the DIY on that. Some also replace the line to the slave cylinder with a stouter unit to ensure all the fluid from the clutch master cylinder stroke gets to the slave, but I don't road race so I did not feel it was something I needed.

I went with Redline based on others recommendations. I run Mobile1 ATF in my ZF6.

I never had any grinding issues so I didn't really notice a change but if I'm replacing the fluid and leaving it in forever, I'm using a good synthetic.

I use the Valvoline High Mileage stuff in the Red Bottle it's full synthetic and according to the Valvoline guys it's better than the Mobil 1 synthetic.

Exclamation monster support bearing question

hey guys was installing the support bearing and bent the outer ring that holds the support some. was able to get it straightened out and back on. When I tested it by pressing the spring a couple of times and releasing real hard it pops off. Does the little ring hold the support bearing on once it goes back together, or does it get pushed down in assembly? THANKS FOR ALL INPUT

There is constant pressure between the pressure plate and throwout bearing, but Monster warns about messing up that spring and not to install if it gets boogered up. I would contact them. Based on their site instructions, I don't think you are the first to do that.
