How do you feel when others copy your mods?
Not sure If I am just being a little childish here but I did some cosmetic mods to my car and obviously other owners in my area stop me to check it out. As well as I check out theirs and that always turns into a good conversation, but 2 weeks later when I then run into the same guy and he did almost exactly what i did (specifically blacked out rear end including all my lights, same engine cover and even the "fuses" on fuse the fuse box)....it just ercked me a bit. And I know these are common paint mods, but I did mine a bit different then anything I had seen posted.
Am I being a bit*h or do others feel the same? I just think to each their own and granted there is only so many things you can do to the car, but with that said; be creative in your changes. You don't have to copy it exactly. BTW I am a big boy so bash if you feel the need to do so......LOL

it pisses me off i had the first white charger in town with black stripes and black 22s then a few months later theres 3 cars that look just like mine... its prolly my biggest thing... its like think of your own stuff man!!! but ya most people told me take it as a compliment... but it still sucks..

This is nothing new... It's something that has gone on since the beginning of time...
Jimmy was the first on the block to get flames, then bobby seen it and wanted flames too... Next thing you know, Joe, Paul, James, Susie, Pete, Phil, Sean, Nick and just about everyone else wants flames... Then you see loads flame jobs... Some take it as a complement, some take it as an act of thievery, "they stole my idea".. If there is one thing that I've learned over the years is this, the minute you unveil your "art piece", someone will follow suit with your idea/s... To me, if only one person duplicated the same idea as mine, I feel that I inspired another... Hell, Albeit since you posted some pics of the specific mods you were concerned about being duplicated by another Camaro owner, they are now in the works of being duplicated numerous times over... The only true way to keep your mods unique to you and no one else is to never reveal the work you've done... But ask yourself this question, what's the point if you're not going to share... .02... By the way, looks good... |
