those ones on the camaro black are not the black painted rims. they are the polished rims just tinted.

these pictures are the 21" rims. the first 2 are the polished and painted rims. the 3rd picture is the ones on the "black" camaro. they are painted with a tint of some kind.

Yeah, that's true, the dealer doesn't give you your old wheels back do they? I mean it's a dealer installed option, so that means Chevy ships the car with smaller stock wheels. So in reality if the dealer pockets the value of the other wheels, these wheels are actually costing you more like $6000... The base price is something like $4800 I think... I suppose you could ask for your stock wheels and tires as well upon delivery and sell them on ebay for $1000.

Wrong as long as you ask for them and the dealer doesn't take advantage of you, you get both sets. Look at it like this, You order an SS or even a car with the RS package, that cars comes with 20inch wheels if you order no other options when that car arrvies it will have 20's. They are in the price and they are paid for. The 21's are a dealer installed option, yes you can add that option when you order but it doesn't matter. If my car was setting at my house right now with 20's and I decided I wanted the 21's i would drive up to the dealer and buy a set and you damn well better believe I'm leaving there with my old wheels. Its no different if you add the option when you order, its a full purchase not an upgrade fee your buying both. The sad thing is yes some dealers will play dumb and not mention this and some customers don't do their own research and they do lose their original wheels. Bottom line is your buying two sets you should get two sets. Other board members have gotten both sets. I like the upgrade wheels but i don't like the price either, but you could get both and sell the 20's to get some money back.. The stock 20's are fine with me though anyway.

I purchased a wheel upgrade for my civic and i asked for my old wheels and received them, when I first purchased the car off the lot it had the original Si wheels on it, I drove it for a few weeks they had to get the new wheels and i took home both sets. My buddy bought his Si off the lot and the wheel upgrade was already installed and he didn't think to ask for his old wheels and he only got one set but he sure did pay for both of them.

hey, why'd you say I was wrong? I basically said the same thing as you.... The dealer won't offer you your stock wheels if you don't ask for them, but if you do, you should be able to get both sets... e-fight!!! kidding!

Well true, but a good dealer should give them to you without asking. Sadly it seems there aren't many of those out there.

Whatever. I've had more comments on the wheels than anything else.

If your dealer doesn't hand them over when you take delivery of your car, call the police. You paid for them and they're on your window sticker. I can't imagine a dealer trying something like that. Even the 'shifty' dealers can't pull that off.

I really love those wheels. I just think GM overpriced them quite a bit. Maybe I'm just saying that cuz I can't afford them, but whatever.

As another poster said, the wheels on my car have gotten nothing but positive comments. Sure they're not to everyone's taste, and they are pricey, but I had no trouble getting the 20" rims from the dealer and no trouble selling them (except for a screw-up with UPS), but that's another story. Personally, I'm glad I got them.

I think they look good, but all I can think of is what a pain in the backside they must be to clean...all those little nooks and crannies.
