Does the person that ordered first know that he is starting out at #3? My bet is that if he did, he would no longer have an order placed with you. The fact that you placed stock orders in front of sold orders would tell me that you would be willing to bump me down the list if someone else came in and offered to pay more. I personally would rather be #10 at a dealership that I have respect for than be #3 at your shady, Mickey Mouse operation. Thats all I have to say about that.

(Maybe a reason whay alot of dealers do not do it) I came on and posted because I have had many calls concerning Camaro orders across the country and been asked from many people to give my perspective on the situation. I thought my joining a forum might be a way to explain a few things from the dealer perspective. You can say what you want but I felt it was a better idea not to get people upset by taking alot of deposits and then have upset customers when I could not get all their cars pulled for production. Like I posted before I have been through this a few times and it never turns out everyone is happy. I realized I was only going to get a few a month so I figured the safe way to go was to not take orders but just order 2SS/RS's loaded. ( Thought that was the way the true enthusiast would like it) As I stated before I sell alot of Corvette's on Ebay including a Twin APS turbo version and I figured I would put the first couple up when I recieved the ability to order them. And now I have. Just so the record is clear "I" never recieved any bailout money nor did the dealership I run. All over the country dealerships are struggling and I know all might not care but I have 50 employees that I have to keep working. I made the decision and I take responsibility for my decisions. We are a medium size dealership and I will only get a few a month. I guess I am playing the odds. Either way I am sure I would make someone upset. With the amount of calls I have recieved from people that have left deposits and currently have no idea when their car is going to be built I think I made the right decision. I care about my customers and anyone that knows me and my reputation can stick up for me. We are one of the highest rated dealerships in customer satisfaction in the country. I sell cars I have for over 20 years. It is not an easy job but I have always tried to be up front and honest. I thought by joining a forum and talking about it with people that it might be a good thing. I am sorry that we do not have more availibilty of the car. In time I am sure production will increase and then we will be back to the same old story of shop for the best deal. I undestand that and have no problem with that. I just think you are being a little rough on me. We will not agree on everything but in this situation no decision will be ok with everyone. Most of the customers I have that want Camaro's will get them and my loyal one's understand the first few will be sold the way I am selling them and they are OK with it. I am sure I will make someone upset that wants to order a car now but with the current situation of availibility that is bound to happen. I have had so many calls about the Camaro and can I order one for them I was bound to piss someone off. I ONLY GOT 2 CARS THIS MONTH!!! I will leave it at that. I am also planning on Tunning a few with APS Twin Turbo's in the future and other custom modifications and with the limited availibility of the cars I am sure that will be no easy task either. When you only get a few things are thin..It is a s simple as that. I just had to do a follow up post. Flame if you want but I at least took the time to respond..Dan

Respect is something earned. You said above which I highlighted in bold lettering that you joined the forum because you thought it would be a good thing and that it could help you sell your cars. As you know, there is a right way of doing things and a wrong way of doing things in an enthusiast filled forum. If you want to sell anything through this forum and gain the respect of all the enthusiasts here, you should follow these few simple steps I will enumerate below.
1. The first allocations you received from GM for any vehicle's first run before the date given by GM should have gone to your customers and not ordered for yourself to sell above MSRP. (this was your first mistake)
2. You should follow the model that Camaroscotty and Eric Hall at Classic Chevrolet have set up for themselves in getting many enthusiasts to order from them by not only selling at MSRP but promising to honor all supplier and emplyee discount programs.. Would you honor supplier discount Sir??? Or be nice enough to ask your customers if they are a part of a credit union that they can get supplier discount on the Camaro.. https://www.exclusivegmoffer.com That is the link for you to give to your customers when they walk in..
3. Following the above steps online and you will gain back your respect. Sell all your Camaro's at MSRP and honor discounts, even telling your customers how they can save money...Then and only then will you gain our respect..
Step 4, repeat steps 1 thru 3 for every customer...
Fail to do these three steps above Dan and SALISBURYCHEVROLET ends up in this thread below.. Capeesh?

Should I:
Order one anyway to get a place in "line"?
Try a different dealership? The guy told me if I go to another dealer and they take my money they are going to be doing the same thing and aren't telling me the truth.
Thanks

The first two customers who asked your dealer or spoke to you about the first two allocations you were promised should have been taken in as your first two customers.. This was your first and biggest mistake and it is all about greed since GM set a system in place so that people could pre-order and be protected from a price increase later on.. You're basically telling repeat customers to go create an e-bay account and bid on your vehicle.. If you want your allocations in the future to be greater than 2, then you really need to place more importance to the first two customers who came and visited you with money ready to place orders for this great new car.. That is how you gain a repeat customer for life and one that spreads positive info about their experience with you..
