does plasti dip mess up paint?

I wanted to plasti dip the bottom of my car, and if I don't like it, and rip off the plasti dip, will my paint or clear coat get messed up?

this is what I wanted to do

Thanks

I have plasti dipped a few things, some parts i have left on for months and never had a problem. If it was messing up paint you would have seen a 100 threads on it.

If you're not convinced, even after all the threads then don't do it and think of something else to worry about.

How well does the plastidip hold up? Rock chips, scratches, etc...

Good, and if it chips or scratches you can touch it up. No big deal

Would be interesting if they made it in a clear color ... put it on the front bumper to protect the paint maybe?

I think its very weak in this case. If a rock flies up it will scrape/mar the surface of the plasti-dip. However, this may provide protection to the underlying paint agains rocks. I wouldn't rely on it for protective purposes. It's more useful for apprearances. If you spray a coat on, let it dry and peel it off it has the thickness of a latex glove but its very stretchy. It all depends, I think against tiny little pebbles less than a gram plasti-dip will protect, but against anything larger than allergy pill at freeway speeds I would say the chances of it protecting are slim.

I wouldn't put the wrong wax on my paint, let alone a pant-like substance that comes out of an aerosol can.
