Is this Noise normal when driveing/shifting M6 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

when i am and shifting gears i hear like a shhhhhshhhh shound coming from my shifter/tranny.. when i am rolling in nuetral and i push the shifter to one side or another i near the same sound... I have a hurst shifter... i just changed my tranny fluid with amsoil yesterday still hear the noise...You can only hear it when the windows are up and radio and ac is off.. 2010 m6 with 5050 miles.

Sounds like the lower boot might be opening up and you get to hear more noise. Take the console guages off and see if you can find the air leak. Worth a shot.

The other thing to ask - Amsoil? Is it Automatic Tranny Fluid or is it Gear Oil? You are supposed to be using ATF, not gear oil. That could be making a difference.

used amsoil ATF!! YOU THINK THE DUST BOOT COULD BE LOOSE?? maybe it didnt fit right when i took it off to swap shifters

could be some of the set screws on the shifter if they get a little backed out they make an annoying sound thats even worse in 5th and 6th . I have a LSR and have had to tighten mine twice.
