Buzzing sound coming from dash...

A buzzing sound started coming from my dash today, and I'm not sure what it could be. Its doing it in one second increments... Buzz, stop, buzz, stop, buzz stop. It did this when the car was running, and when it was shut off. Any idea what this could be?

I've heard a faint buzzing sound in the center dash area. I only hear it when the engine is not running and everything is off. It will only last about 5 seconds and come back maybe 5 minutes later. The best description is the sound of a CD player spinning or small electric motor. I don't have a CD in the dash so I'm guessing it's just the car performing automatic "maintenance checks" on the CD player or something in the dash. I don't know if it happens while the engine is running because the sound is so faint.

You're hearing the ventilation servo motors in the HVAC system. Many modern cars have this. It's perfectly normal. Mine does this too.

If you hear this while the car is running, then it may be something else. The HVAC servo motors set the vents about 2-5 mins after the car is turned off. It is identified by a buzzing sound for about 3-5 seconds and it only happens one time.
