How accurate are online insurance quotes?
if you plug in all the varibles correctly they ask for, basically mirroring what I already have with All State. I have gotten as low as 65 a month and as high as 120+(what I am paying now)

Being military I go with USAA insurance and when I did the online quote, it was spot on within 50 cents a month. I now pay 139 a month for full coverage on my camaro and my wifes 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Geico asked me enough questions that it was exactly on the money when I called to sign up.
Whereas Liberty Mutual was off some hundred dollars or so. I suppose it varies from company to company...depending on the questions they ask, and the specifics of the vehicle you can provide them with (a VIN number versus "Chevrolet > Camaro > Coupe 2dr SS" or something) |

Look up The Woodlands Financial Group, they are a broker that writes for over 60 companies. They have always been great to me and for me they have the best rates but as always YMMV. Good luck.

Although I do not sell PL insurance (I do CL) I would always suggest going through a broker...
When you go to national companies.. (I won't say names.. but you see all their commercails ALL THE TIME!!) They are all you are going to get.. 1 price that's it. When going through a broker (providing they are good) They will shop you around to get you what is right for your situation & budget.. Although they sometimes will or won't be the cheapest.. They will always be the best VALUE If all you want is the cheapest price.. Shop your own insurance every other month.. As insurance goes up & down like the stock market... But if you actually want coverage.... Use a broker... they will get you the best deal every time

Mine was off bout 75$. Depends on company but if your online quote question are really vague or could throw quote off when they get all details needed to write policy. Some give you a good quote just to get you ready to sign then while you on phone make changes that get it to go up

I actually went to see the agent because I didn't believe it, it was pretty much dead on, adjust a couple things but the difference was a dollar. been researching others experience on the net and the reviews have largely been positive. I just paid the july all state premium but will be switching late in july if Erie will accept me at that time. between now and then I will find a few people that have them already and verify there reviews. as it stands right now, I think I have a new car insurance company.

As long as everything is the same across carriers, and you enter all of your driving record and claims information exactly correctly. If you do all that, the number will be spot on. Even low balling a recent claim can cost you, though, and make the number go up.
Also, ask them about OEM replacement parts and new car replacement. These can be the two big differences between insurers. Most insurers today expect you to be happy with aftermarket or second hand parts. To my knowledge, only Liberty Mutual and Chubb Group insurers spec OEM parts on all repairs. Geico specs OEM safety and engine parts, and aftermarket cosmetics. When I was quoting Liberty Mutual and Met Life, their policies also included a 1 year new car replacement policy in the policy, not as a rider. That being said, I was quoting both my vehicles, not just the Camaro, and got estimates between $90/month with $100.00 deductibles to $215.00/month with $500.00 deductibles. Obviously, the companies calling for OEM parts are more expensive. If I were you, I would take a serious look at Geico. Also, I would warn you against All State. They were one of the highest quotes I received, and they do not spec OEM parts. That's what my research showed me, anyway. Anyone from inside the industry or with more experience want to weigh in here?
