Continental DWS on closeout?
I'm going to need new tires come spring since my rear OEM Pirelli's are completely bald. My snow tires are on their second year as well and I'm pretty sure those are going to need replacing by next year so I'm planning to go with an all-season tire and just deal with the mediocre snow performance.
Tire Rack shows three options for the SS: the OEM Pirelli's, Continental DWS, and General G-max. I noticed that the Continental DWS sized for the front wheels (245/45R20) are both more expensive than the 275/40R20 rears and marked "Closeout". I was only planning to buy rears for now and then get replacement fronts when they're done near the end of summer but I eventually want to end up with 4 matching tires. Are these on their way out? Is there a replacement coming up from Continental? |

Looks like the rears are on closeout. For an all-season tire, you can't beat the General G-max.

FYI, I put the DWs' on the front last year to replace the PZeros, and finally went theu the Rear PZereos and just last week switched to the DWS' all around.. DANGEROUS. These things roll and wag like NOTHING I have ever felt before. Discount thinks that replaceing them will fix it, based on reviews, it likely will not.. I have to accellerate to over 80 in a passing zone today, when I changed lanes back, I thought I was a goner, the whole rear end felt like I was on flat tires...Definitely going to either go to G-Max's or Nitto Motivo's, an awesomne treadlife and good reviews on both.. but please, stay off the DWS'.. I am drafting a letter to Continental & D Tire RE: these tires..

Huh...interesting.....DANGEROUS?? I've had the DWS's for almost 10,000 miles now and I love them. Awesome in the rain and ride smooth and quiet as well as not even showing any wear yet, well except for the back, but I'm over 500 RWHP ![]() Look, you can't compare Summer tires to All-Seasons,there not in the same league. If you want to race and auto cross than yes all season tires are not going to perform nearly as good. But for the average weekend have fun driver of the Camaro,Agood option. There are lots of good reviews out about DWS tires as well As far as being Dangerous, well,I don't think so.
