Best AFM mask for the L99 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have read a lot of these treads and plan on getting a Catback system for my L99. It seems that SOLO and MBRP are 2 of the front runners, I know that MBRP has just finished their R&D and started shipping not long ago. I would love to have peoples input who have purchased an exhaust for the L99 how they like it and how does it mask the AFM system.

keep it from sounding muddy when AFM kicks in.

You can just turn it back on if you need to. I personally probably would not do it mostly because it would not bother me. It's a mute point, I drive a stick.

It's pretty darn annoying especially with afteramarket exhaust that's why it's important to get a good one or just go axle back and leave the stock resonators on.

I will turn mine off in due time... just not ready to blow warranty this early especially with a Z-28 around the corner... re-sale value will be important too.

Solo Mach X on my car, saw the MBRP system, but they are $400+ more than Solo.

mlee, does the car sound a lot different in person than on video, it seem to be kinda high pitched on video...just wondering

Mzodarg, how is the AFM on your system? Is it very annoying?

Corsas are more raspy than exhuast such as Borla or SLP. More of a euro sound. Bass also does not go through very well.

I'm thinking about an after market exhaust myself. I never did that on a car, I have always been a stock kind of guy. As I get older I want to make some noise. Does an aftermarket system run the risk of not passing the sate emissions test on the next inspection?

My friend has solo and swears by it.
