LT Wheels Swap, TPSM light on.

Hey guys, I found some stock 20'' SS take offs and had them put on at the dealership. They have been "programmed" twice and each time they will work for about 10-15 miles then the "service tire monitor" light comes on. Checked the parts depatment but found only one part number for the TPSM sensors, so they gotta been the same right? Before I go breaking down the tires and swapping sensors etc(eeeeek)I am wondering if we are missing a step in the re-programming or something. Its like they just loose communication after 10 -15 miles?

I went from the RS rims to some LS rims for the winter and haven't had any problems with the TPMS. I hope you get the problem figured out.

Are they programming the TPMS properly? Are all four wheels showing 0 psi on your information screen?

When programming, you start at the driver's side front tire and work your way around the car clockwise. When the last one is done, the horn honks twice.

Only one TPMS part # for the 2010 Camaro. I doubt the sensors are bad, most likely it is the reset procedure.

I put my 20s away for the winter and put some new 20s on with tires/sensors and had the same problem, drove for awhile and the light came on - tpms shows just dashes where there should be numbers. I drove back to have my lug nuts torqued and they used the codes from a corvette and reprogrammed, been 50 mi and no problems. Dude said the new codes weren't even out for this car/trim level yet.

yeah the "relearn" procedure isnt even an option on the screen and like Kicker said, there are dashes where the numbers should be. The parts manager siad something about a software update for the techs computers so they could fix the problem, but he said theyre still a month away from receiving the update.I work at the dealer so I trust these guys and they are great! I just wondering if we are missing a step here.

On my 3rd set of wheels.. I just cant make up my mind, but here goes.

Start with DIC turn to tires check for reset are you sure Yes. You have the start on the Drivers front tire first.

Start to release air from tire should only take a few seconds, until horn honks then move to the right front tire and repeat, then to right rear tire, repeat, then to left rear tire.

Now replace all caps then go drive the car to air pump if you don't have a compressor, need to put a few miles about 5-10 or so to get the correct sensor readings.

Now I have hear that if one sensor goes bad it will cause this or similar issues to happen. There is a reader that can test the sensors while the tires are on the car. Even Firestone and some other shops have them. They may help you out if the (dealer doesn't have the software)???????

The book is very detailed in the procedure, if I typed anything wrong.

Yep, I did the "re-learn " procedure today, very simple, and all seems to be well!!! I cant believe my own dealership couldnt figure this one out!they "prgrammed" it twice with a "tech II" but in the end the "re-learn" was what was needed!thanks guys! buwahaha!
