Question Just installed D.T. Long tubes

I need help, I have a 2 SS LS3 M6 camaro , It has 4000 miles on it and it has been an awesome car. Here is my question I have just started modding this car and I started off with the magnaflow 3" comp exhaust with x pipe and D.T. long tubes. I kinda got ahead of myself, I had already had the magnaflow cat back on the car and I got to looking at the headers yesterday and looked at them so much I ended up installing them (best fitting headers I have ever installed by the way). My plan was to get a vararam cold air kit and install the headers and cold air kit together then have it tuned, but I may have to wait a few weeks before the tune and the cold air kit (vaction, the Family always comes first). Do you think it will hurt the car to drive it a few weeks until I can recover from vaction enough to buy the cold air and get it tuned? Thanks, I have been around cars all my life and done thousands of mods but this is my first computerised Hot Rod!!!

I love my thorleys but having to swap them for some 1 7/8" for better flow for the motor work.

We've made over 600RW with a 1 3/4
This 1 7/8 stuff really makes me laugh at times...

Sure they have a place but I woudnt sway to them if I already had 1 3/4

Yah but mine are 2.5" collectors they dont have enough flow to maximize this cam setup.

The one thing I really like about the Dynatechs is all of their headers have 3" collectors and they use the cat to mate to either a 3" or 2.5" exhaust. So I have 2.5" outlet cats now but if I upgarade to a 3" catback I just need to swap the cats. If I recall the Janetty test showed there is a small gain in primary sizes, for most it isn't worth upgrading, but every build is different.

Didnt know that, I agree then the 2.5 collectors are not the best but we didnt make 475RW with a header of similar design...(PYPES HEADERS RUNS A SMALL COLLECTOR)

I do agree though,I would rather see u run a 3in collector with spike merge..
Good luck with the setup.

At what point does the 1.75 become too restrictive? I've got a set of DT LT's that I haven't put on yet.

DT long tubes are kind of in the middle between 1 3/4 and 1 7/8. Simply bc of their design. They start out regular 1 3/4 size but halfway down the long tube they blow out to 2.25 then into 2.5 pipe near the end. I think we will see interesting numbers from the DT setups.

It maybe my imaginenation but my car seems to be down on power a bit now. I have been easy on it since I have not had it tuned yet but I have noticed that when I have gotten a little spirited with it it does not spin the tires as easy as it did before. I was kind of wondering if the headers changed the torque curve enough to feel a diff. or the headers are confusing the computer and maybe triping the Knock sensor causing the computer to pull time. I think I am going to park it untill I get a tune and and a CAI and hope the power comes back to where it was or really hope I pick up some gain!! P.S. It seems to make a lot more valve train noise now, I guess it could be the headers pinging like in a old car with headers. How much seat of the pants diff do you think I will feel when it is tuned with the headers and a vararam CAI because like I said right now it feels way down from stock:(? Thanks
