Car Comparison

Its own thread to track changes and for reference..

spread sheet

Note that I will add specific cars if they meet the following criteria. Please bear in mind this is for comparison only, not whats better or not. This data is only submitted to use for car shoppers to make informed decisions and reference.

Criteria to have a car added:

Manufacture's name and model name.
Must be a coupe.
Must be 2 doors trim (can have 4 door trim but will not be compared).
Must be Rear Wheel Drive.
I will only add top engine model trim with no options.

PS anyone know how to imbed a webpage onto a post.. essentially to imbed the table here instead of just a link?

I don't know if we're supposed to reply or not...I thought I saw this somewhere else...If not PM me and I'll delete it

But that table is cool - of the averages, our estimated Camaro (wieght btw was a good call) falls below all except wieght!

and, I hadn't run the numbers before, 8.72 lbs./hp?!?! The last Camaro was at 10.66 lbs./hp - That's pretty good! almost as good as the base Vette!

Again, very nice chart - excellent Idea!

Yea replies and suggestions are welcome, this was posted up in the weight thread but I figured it had a more broad appeal for coupe shoppers in general and its easier to track and find again if its in its own thread.

I like. Just one suggestion. Instead of average, I would go with median, given the large outliers for both price and hp. Additionally, I might recommend mode for seating, as no car listed actually seats three people.

Nice work.

I was thinking the same thing... Good Idea!
But I hope they won't be too far off...

I'm looking into making the page sortable by any of the fields by the viewer, just gonna take some time for me to get it working.

The original reason I first sorted by MSRP was because 90% of car shoppers shop thier price range not by brand..

Yeah a median figure might be better than the average. I originally suggested an average column, but that Bugatti Beyron really throws off the averages.

Also www.edmunds.com is a very good site for this kind of information to double check or do a quality assesment of your stats.

For instance the heaviest 350Z I could find weighs 3404 lbs.

Also I've never seen a GTO MSRP for less than $30K, unless they included factory rebates or dealer incentives.

http://www.pontiac.com/gto/index.jsp

That is part of the reason I didn't get GTO....:( but I digress.

I apologize for the nitpicking, this is a great spreadsheet and I love looking at raw data numbers like this. Great job. I think this would be worth making a sticky.
