Too much traction control

Is it just me or does the ss camaro seem like it should burn the tires a bit more when you stomp the gas at a 10 mile per hour roll in 1st gear, driving a manual.

I think its the traction control. I do have it completely off (holding it down for 7 seconds until both indicators show on the rpm gauge). I think even though it's off there is some type of traction control still on, or the computer system in the car is optimizing the take off. Because, if I help the car out a bit by pressing in the clutch just a bit it seems to remove the traction control and I can break the tires loose very easily while at a 10 mph roll.

On some of the older vehicles before they had the ECU. I've have it in first gear and it would definately burn out. These vehicles also had about 200 less horsepower.

yes, even with traction control and stabilitrack, torque management is still active. It's to protect the internal engine components, and I am willing to bet they made it even more annoying after the broken driveshaft issues on early 2010's... but if you're going from a roll and just mashing the gas, it may just be how sticky the tires are that is causing the tires not to break loose easily... I bet if you went to 10mph fully disengaged the clutch, increased the rpms to 5k, and then re-engaged the clutch quickly you'll break those tires loose...

Ah, its the torque management. A quick search on google had some discussions on it.

Someone said they removed the torque management on a SS Trailblazer and his trans was toast in a month.

+1 on Torque Managment. It is not necessary to disable it. Most people seem to be very happy just turning it down. You can adjust it down how you like it, of course this is through tuning so you loose the warranty.

lol, definitely paranoid. If the car was designed so poorly to require you to pull a fuse regularly to perform as designed, it wouldn't be worth owning.

even before I supercharged my car....with everything turned off, I was able to easily leave long tire burn marks.

My M6 will light them up easy at 25 to 30 with T/C on. For short periods till T/C kicks in. No tune and just Vararam intake for performance mods. Easier with it off.
