your coolant temperature?

I am posting this here since we all drive a v6, so let me ask what is your coolant temp diplayed when fully warmed up? Mine is around 210 and it go up and down, I think the hottest I seen is around 212. The reason why I ask this is because it sound like my radiator fan is on all the time, and it sound like its going off when I come to a stop. This is really weird. I just want to hear from other memebrs if any of you know what I am talking about? I have a manual so I dont know if auto does the same. I've been trying to figure this out for awhile but as of right now it look like I am about to give the dealer a call.

EDIT:06/29
Since another member brought this thread out from the dead I guess I will just update to what was my resolution for the problem that I thought I was having back in march.

I came to conclusion that this was just normal. The rev sometimes hang at 1000 rpm, than when you come to a complete stop it rev back down. To a unsuspecting driver like me at that time it might sound like a radiator or ac condenser had just turned off, and it really does sound almost exactly like if a radiator fan would have turned off from being on due to high heat or something.

That is the reason why my title have asked "your coolant temperature?"

193-199 when warmed up and cruising. At idle fully warmed it will fluctuate between 200-223.

201F when fully warmed up. I've never heard the cooling fan come on.

FWIW, the 5.3L in my Silverado runs 210F.

No I haven't. I only hear the secondary come on at the predetermined temp if I have the hood up in the drive on a hot day, I think at 226 degrees.Ive seen 236 degrees idling in traffic on a hot day but cools down after that.Fans only come on and off determined by the ecu but yours sound as if they are switched or something, if anything they come on at a stop when the temps climb, not turn off. Not needed when at speed unless the car is hot.

I am really confused right now, maybe thats how the engine sound on our v6 and maybe its not the fan thats stopping when coming to a stop? but I swear it sound like the radiator fan was on and turns off everytime I come to a stop. Maybe the engine is reving up a little right before I come to a complete stop? but that should show on my rpm gauge. I know im not going crazy lol

Bmore,

I have noticed this sound within the last two days on my car as well, I think it might be the a/c compressor kicking on/off? Also I noticed that my coolant temperature is between 195-205 today - it was 90 degrees outside. Let me know if you are still experiencing the same thing.

I remember this post lol.. This was when I first started noticing the problem or should I say noise. I come to a conclusion that this is normal. The RPM kinda hangs at 1k rpm than drops when you come to a complete stop so it sound like something is turning off like the radiator fan or something else when its really your engine revving down. I read somewhere on this forum where some said that GM programmed the engine to do that in order to gimmick a muscle car sound like when those old school cars used to backfire almost. I have no idea how true that is but is normal unless what you are describing is something different.

At the track mine gets upwards of 225* but I have added a coolant additive and since then it does run cooler. Usually around 205*

I used WaterWetter in my '01 Camaro, and it worked great.

If it's a V6 and the noise is like a slow tick, it could be the high psi fuel pump you're hearing. I can hear mine when slowing down since the car maintains 1k RPM above 5MPH when in neutral.
