Does anyone else have a Gas Pedal Problem?

My car is a 6-speed automatic and I have noticed when I quickly accelerate on the freeway and release the gas pedal to coast the engine remains at the higher RPMS (+4,000 rpms) and the tac slowly returns to 2,000 RPMS. Is this a gas pedal cable issue?

There is no gas pedal cable,it's called throttle by wire and it's electronic.

Takes awhile for the computer to figure out you don't want to haul ass anymore, so it holds you in a lower gear to aid acceleration?

Just a guess

There was a thread about it. It just stays at a high rev for a couple of seconds in case you plan on getting back on it.

If you drive any of the 3.8 million toyotas recalled, then you have a problem.

Yeah, I have a problem with my gas pedal too. For some reason it seems like it weighs a lot more than it should, and I always find myself having to take my foot off of it to slow down!

hmm, yeah if the throttle is somehow nearly closing I guess? Is it a manual transmission? Or maybe the dealer is just full of and doesn't want to admit that he doesn't know whats wrong with your truck
