I just finished installing a RX catch can. SC2150 says that cooling plays into getting the oil to fall out of suspension. So I decided to run with that thought.
Oh yeah Paul, while I was at it I use Plasti-Dip spay to do the spacers on the VR stays.

Uh, I missed something. You installed an RX catch can? Please explain.

Just trying something different. Now you "can" see options. Both could be mounted on the washer bottle though. One could mount the RX on the on the bottle without the aluminum L bar. I just like the added support. The button heads on the bolts, sit in a vertical groove on the bottle. The hose clamps just happen to fit perfectly through an open area in the plastic molding. The progressive washers are there because the bottle neck is pitched. This was way too easy, it just takes me forever to get my mind made up.

"Can" I actually chuckled!
Very interesting. I like what you did with the hose routing. It really blends well and looks stock. Now I will take all of my parts back and investigate the idea of locating it in this area.
Sorry, I don't want to hijack this thread and move the focus from the intake but I was caught by surprise.

Thanks.

I hope BackInBlackSS/RS doesn't mind, his thread has helped us all. I think it's nice to find a thread about a VaraRam installation, and see different peoples posts on things related to having the VR. I don't think this mod, and my lack of skills, is worthy of it's own thread.

Sort of related, but I just went down to the garage and held up my other catch can to this mounting system. I believe it could easily be adapted, using a small flat bar pop riveted to the L bar. The flat bar could be used as an extension to move the can way from the washer bottle neck slightly. Then use the stock adaper with the two pass through screw holes with slighlty longer screws to mout to the flat bar...maybe.

Sorry I didn't get back I had to fly to Idaho for the week. (hate rentals, they can't compare to the Camaro 2SS )
I did hit the 100 mile mark and WOW. Nice improvement. the millage was still all over the place. I did the fuse pull reset and that was the trick. I'd suggest it to all. I even felt a little more performance on top of the added Vararam. The millage did settle down after that. Like you catch can set up where did you buy it.

My mpg was rock solid from the get go. But I figured you would notice a difference after 100 miles. I think I may have 1200 on mine since installing.
Anyway the catch can is RX. PM SC2150 and he will take care of you.
The custom mounting stainless steel pieces were picked up at Ace Hardware. I love ACE because they have their stuff in bulk bins where you can do test fittiing.

I'm glad I decided to wait till next spring to get an intake. I liked the look of the Vararam when i first saw one, but then it seemed like everybody was having trouble with them, so I figured I'd grab a CAI in the spring, but after seeing this thread, I think I'm going back to the VR, just LOVE the way they look.

Like the rest of the guys that have the new version, I'm sure you won't be sorry. They do have an awesome warranty and the customer support is top notch.

I'm totally happy. If you think about it, if for nothing else, a straight line will have the least restriction for one. Next, air coming completely from out side the engine compartment will be fresh and colder than in a mixed condition. Plus it is taken from air that is higher off the road that can be very hot in the summer on black asphalt. It is also protected from rain from the front valence. All that and it is short. A long tube through a hot engine compartment will heat up. The Vararam is the shortest distance from cold air to hot exhaust. It just makes sense. Thank you Vararam.

I installed the new unit yesterday to replace the original unit which still had some surging issues. I have to say I noticed an immendiate differnce in start-up, idle, and general driving. So far no surging at all, I must say I'm very happy!

I posted some comparison pics over here if anyone is interested.

Just installed my Vararam last night. And the only issues I had was with the long screws they give you that replace the radiator support screws. Had to jimmy them and the brackets around abit to get them to line up right so that I could tighten them down. Other than that, the install went flawless. It also mates up nicely with my Diablo Tune as well. Could tell a big difference in the performance.

I don't think most are even using those long bolts. Did you try it w/o?
