This was one idea I had, a color print of my front plate and then laminate it. My front plate currently resides in my glove box.

It would have to be made from reflective material to not set of red alarms at night.

This come up often when folks want to repaint their plate on classic cars.

Pretty sure the only license plate you're allowed to display is the state issued one. A "duplicate" plate is a big no-no...

I respect the desire of folks who do not want a front plate on their vehicle, as long as they are willing to pay the price of violating the law (albeit a law that doesn't make a lot of sense to most of us) if they are stopped and issued a citation. It is still the law...

Fortunately, I really like the way my front license plate looks on my car. After using a NO DRILL method to mount the front bracket, I attached my plate and used some custom Chevy bowtie bolt covers to dress it up a little. It's subtle, but when you get up close, it looks great!

And since so many of you aren't attaching your plates, it helps mine stand out in a crowd of Camaros (thanks!).

By the way, here's a link to my DIY post of the NO DRILL mount. Scroll down until you see my post and pics:

Oh...almost forgot.

I worry about all of you who keep your front plates on the dash. Not a good idea. The forces in almost any collision could easily be enough to dislodge the plate (even if you use suction cups against the windshield) and send it flying through the car.

Seems like a decapitation (or at least a serious laceration) waiting to happen. If that's where you want to put yours, more power to you...but that would seem to add your name to a long list of those who are "not the sharpest tools in the shed."

My two cents... Stay safe!

My last two no-front-plate citations were from Houston PD. They do not allow the fix-it ticket dismissal any longer. They used to, but I think they figured out they'd rather just have our money now. Looking at the wording, notice the bold word.

I got one outside of cresson a few months ago for no seat belt and the cop didnt say a thing about my vehicle not having a front plate however I wasnt in a new camaro.

Oh well my parents live in Granbury and I will be cruising down 377 VERY soon in a RALLY YELLOW SS with NO front Plate

Good ol Hood county and the TDPS they are hell.
Yes...as long as it is "AT THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE" as the law states... a cop can & may give you a ticket if it's not mounted... but a judge will throw it out.

BTW... the State Troopers in the Parker County area must have been told to look for Camaros.... because I got a warning ticket in Aledo & my friend got one in Azle... the local cops & even the sheriffs pass me by without any notice. So...just place it on your dash (mine is attached to the window with clear suction cups) & dont worry about it. I'm not.

Only 2 times I've been stopped for no front plate was by DPS. Locals have never said a thing. I did get a thumbs up from one the other day though
