Bleeding brakes for line lock
I have a question and searching turned up nothing.
I will be installing my SJM line lock soon, and was wondering, since you have to disconnect the line before the ABS module, is there a special bleeding procedure? Is a scan tool needed to get all the air out? I'm surprised nobody has asked this yet, at least not that I can find. |

Now you know why shop rates are what they are. Equipment is very expenssive and then of course you need to get the updates... I would suggest installing the line lock and then having a Pedders or Chevy or other quality dealer do the final bleed with a Tech II.

I do it the cheap way. Bleed the brakes, drive it into a sandy parking lot and slamm
the brakes a few times. It pulses the ABS system and blows the air bubbles out. Go back and bleed again -done. No $5k tool needed. |

Hmm Don that's a good idea. If I can't find a scan tool that works, I'll use that method. I'v been putting off the install of the line lock and stainless lines.

My god...why would you guys make such a mountain out of a little deal. He is just installing line locks. All of the air is after the brake line block. Just install your line locks and bleed your brakes starting at the one that is furtherest away. takes two people on pumping the brakes and one working the bleeder or a vacuum system. as long as you dont run your resevour dry you wont get air in the system before the abs box. You are going to love your new locks...and tire companies will love you...roflmao
