A car with that many mods can easily pick up 30hp if the tune is crap and is pulling timing etc.

Post up a video, if you can. I would like to hear that beast with the TSP cam in it. That is some real serious HP with a really efficient combo. It looks like you might be on to something.

I can understand where you comming from. As I said I was dissapointed in the car before. The reason was, that the car was terrible. It was rediculous to drive. To the point, it was taken out of the garage on 2 occasions once I got it home. The first was to have the original tuner come back over to tune on it more. That tune still was terrible, the car finally stopped hold 2K rpms when sitting at a light. The only way to get it to stop was pushing in the clutch. The car when leaving a light, would backfire, then even in 5th gear on the highway just barley pushing the gas would backfire. The car was no where near what it needed to be. To be honest I wouldnt drive it anywhere like that, sounded like a PINTO with no mufflers. The big difference on this is the TUNE and the person TUNING the car no doubt. With the fast 102 and NK 102 TB, there just hard to get right. It takes someone that is qualified to tune a car to get it right. This takes time and experience, which no doubt PATRICK G has. I have been building cars for years. I got out of it when riding sports bikes, had more fun draging knee at the track. Now I decided to get back into it. Am I suprised by the numbers, well yes and no, did I think the car had it in it, absolutely. Why shouldnt it put down over 500 with all the mods it has ???? The only thing I can think of to bolt on the car NA would be a mezler water pump, other than that maybe a bigger cam.

Should Jet decide to go for a higher dyno number, I'm pretty sure his Camaro would punch a better number with some 20s installed.

The street manners are a lot better now, but I will spend the next couple of days fine tuning it...especially the VE and open loop tables. Fixing your PCV/catch can hose arrangement will smooth out the power delivery.
JetG,
Congrats man I told you that combo would make more power with a better tune!!

Patrick,
I sent you a pm my mods are in my sig hope to hear from you soon!! Very nice work, hope to do business with you soon!!

I knew the car had it in it, and knew that the car was messed up TUNE wise. Really greatful that Patrick has my car and was able to get it correct, not many people go through the effort to tune it for hours on end.

Jet,

The driveability portion of the tune is pretty much done.

Backfiring under load: Gone. Could not be solved with a MAF-only tune like you had previously. You needed the VVE tables to cover a lean spot between 2000-3000 rpm. The VVE tables had to be extensively modified then re-engaged. You now have both VVE tables and MAF working together up until 4000 rpm. Just the way GM had it from the factory.

Hanging idle: Gone. Took lots of massaging. The FAST 102 and 102mm TB pose their own set of challenges for tuners, but yours is nice now.

Bucking and surging: Gone above 1400 rpm and very slight below that. You can crawl in 1st gear with the a/c on and cruise in 6th gear at 1200 rpm and not have any issues.

A few mechanical issues needed to be addressed. The PCV/catch can was not set up properly, but is now. The FAST intake had very loose bolts which might have given a little bit of a vacuum leak. It's all torqued down now.

Let me know if you want to pick it up now or wait until after the Katech tensioner and new belt is installed.

The Katech Tensioner should be there tomorrow I believe. It was sent out on Monday, and was 2 day shipped. Just have to figure out belt length. So might as well wait on that. If it is okay to come pick it up on Saturday, I will just get a rental car and head that way. Just have to drop the rental off and head back when I get there. Thank you so much for all the work and getting my car back in shape and now can at least enjoy it.
